Re: F...26.2 Stickers
I think bumper stickers in general are stupid, especially all the political ones. But really, no one gives a shit how far you've ran, if your kid gets A's in school, if you like Obama, if you want to co-exist, if you've been to VT, if you want to consider WWJD, if you're against war and abortion, or any other damn thing. Keep that crap to yourself. NO ONE cares. I have a UF alumi license plate frame, but that's as far as it goes.

Re: F...26.2 Stickers
I have seen the 13.1s but never beside of a 26.2. Idiots.
I hate these stickers/magnets too but those cartoons of every family member make me rage on the road. I don't know why but I HATE them. They're always on minivans and usually include a few cats. I even saw a "family" without a dad sticker...a mom and a few kids and animals. Really, that's something to brag about? I'm sure the advertisement helps burglars too...no man in that house.

Re: F...26.2 Stickers
You know which stickers are extra stupid? The ones that show Calvin from Calvin and Hobbes peeing on something. There are a million versions, all so cheesy.

More times than not in the rear window of a 4x4 pick-up. With a home installed 7" body lift kit.

Another offender, those giant softball and soccer ball magnets. I find most soccer fans to be jerks, always pushing their "game" and insisting that we should all embrace soccer. They accuse us of not "understanding the nuances of the game" and even make anti-American comments while living here themselves. No...I played soccer as a kid and was quite good. I just can't watch a game and stay awake. It's a fine game for kids. My son will be playing next year most likely at age 4. However, as an adult, if my kid is not playing I can't stand to watch a 0-0 barnburner after 90 minutes of play. It's not like a good hockey game or defensive struggle in REAL football, the field is far too big and most of the time in a soccer game is spent kicking the ball long onto the other end of the field...the players run to get it or the goalie ROLLS the ball to a teammate. Then they kick the ball to the other end of the field and all run to that end. Very few shots on goal and even fewer that have a chance of going in the net. Yawn. I get the game. It's just lame. Don't be so defensive about it. I have a co-worker who has several soccer flags hanging up (3' x 5') and even wears soccer jerseys to work sometimes...how professional. Like I said...always advertising. She was "shocked" that I told her I wasn't watching the World Cup when she asked who I wanted to win. If I were to watch, I'd root for our team...not Spain like her. No national pride... Also, it seems that one of every three Pennsylvanians have not only visited the Outer Banks, NC, but bought the SAME sticker! (OBX) That reminds me of something I see occasionally...guys driving cars with something like this on it:

I ran a bit more than a mile yesterday. Gonna make my own 1.1 bumper sticker.

Re: F...26.2 Stickers
My wife has a 13.1 on her car, she was definitely proud of herself for doing it and in no way is saying she is better than those who didn't.
I think TMC is is inflicting his own emotions into the sticker. Just like when someone reads a email totally wrong then what you attended it to be. My dad is that way I seriously can only write him quick answers otherwise he take the whole thing out of context.

Re: F...26.2 Stickers
I agree, the 26.2 is douchy. If you graduated from a good college and you put that sticker out there, I don't mind that because that's a REAL accomplishment.
Gee you ran 26.2 miles at one time. Is that hard? Sure. Does it mean much of anything? No. On the kids' honor roll bumper stickers, I do have a bit of a different opinion though. I agree it comes across pretentious until you think about it from the 6 year old's point of view. He just got a good report card, he's proud, he sees other kids' moms with the bumper sticker on the car, and now he's earned it too. Are you as a parent going to tell him no? If you did, you'd be a bigger douche than the parent who displays them proudly.
