RG3 should not play this weekend, though we all know he'll want to. Concussions are serious.

Re: NFL mad at Skins
I've had two concussions. One at about 6 or 7 years old and the other when I was 29. My doctor said just two concussions can lead to impairment etc later in life. And the biggest concern is that you let the brain swelling/bruising subside before any further physical activity. Doc said I shouldn't even visit the gym for a week.
This stuff is actually pretty common knowledge.

I get if they had put him back in the game, but that didnt happen. Who cares what they call it? If someone gets a neck injury on most teams, they call it a slight ankle sprain. There was never any chance RG3 was going back into that game. And tbh, that hit was on RG3. He should not have tried to cut that up but should have either ran out of bounds or threw it out of bounds. He has to learn that he cant be the hero on every play. It even looked like they were avoiding the designed QB runs, which im not a huge fan of. |

Re: NFL mad at Skins
I look at it this way, the HC was coaching a game and is not going to stop to go find out exactly what the injury is. As far as I'm concerned the doctors were still checking him out all the way up to the end of the game trying to determine how bad the concussion actually was. And.......the HC announced it during the media session after the game. Most likely when he found out exactly what was wrong and how bad so he could report it. Besides the Patriots have done the same thing over the years and no punishment.

Re: NFL mad at Skins
I know everyone online has a medical degree, let's let the doctors figure out if RG3 is fit to play or not.
He's going to have to pass independent testing to get cleared, sorry we can't point the finger at the FO for this one. |

Since this stuff is "common knowledge", then you would also know there are different levels and severity of concussions. Some might require a day to sit out, others weeks or even months. Now, for you to claim he should sit out would mean you have some sort of expertise on diagnosing concussions. I'm quite positive the coaching staff or the medical staff will no jeopardize this guy's future by allowing him to play before he's ready. I'm quite positive they have to go through tests to be allowed to play again after being diagnosed with a concussion.

Re: NFL mad at Skins
Got knocked out one time playing football and I'll be honest and say I went to basketball shortly after. Of course my doc wasn't great about positive outcome of football either.

Re: NFL mad at Skins
I got concussed in 8th or 9th grade playing organized football. I put my head down to absorb a hit while playing QB and remember everything gone black for like 2-3 seconds then getting up and had a hard time balancing my legs. It was scary and i felt "slow" and lethargic immediately afterwards. Sh*t is not fun

Re: NFL mad at Skins
I figure I've probably had a half dozen at least. The worst was from playing flag football of all things. Knocked heads with another guy when we were both going for a flag, I was out like a light for a few seconds and dizzy as all hell when I got up. That was back when you just shook out the "cobwebs" and kept playing. Stupid. I remember a few hits from high school ball where I saw some stars or briefly had tunnel vision.
