Re: Joe Gibbs lied

I understand it being difficult to move, I didn't, honestly, expect them too. However, I took issue with him and all the Ramsey comments.

Re: Joe Gibbs lied

I am dissappointed also getting another QB, but Gibbs is not too convinced with Ramsey. I would of liked to see our team address other needs but who am I to question a guy that has won 3 super bowls. I am about ready too though. As for trading Gardner I don't see it the draft. Probably I would say we get a 3 or 4 round pick after this years draft. I am glad we did not throw away our first round picks for a top 5, I just had a bad feeling about that one-like the Demond Howard deal. Lets hope we get good deals in our future draft picks.

Re: Joe Gibbs lied

No, he did not lie, he is not going to sit there and reveal entirely which direction the Redskins are going to go in and it also depends on who is still available. I would have liked to have seen the Redskins pick Heath Miller as well as the great cornerback prospect Carlos Rodgers to help us curb our loss in Fred Smoot (also very sad to have lost him of course, he was a great team player and assest to their organization).

To be honest after thinking about it, this might turn out to be a great asset for the Redskins, at least pushing Ramsey to continue to improve and mature, and possibly reach his potential as a quarterback for us the long run.

How did he not lie? I read in the Post these were going to be there 2 picks, so it was already revealed. You think they were a lot of people listening to the Gibbs local radio show right before the draft? No. He lied. It was on 12 minutes before the draft started.

Re: Joe Gibbs lied

I'm okay with the Rogers pick.........but with so few picks at #25 I was looking for perhaps Miller, Roddy, or any position but other than a QB.........

Hey at least it's nice seeing Jon Jansen at the draft................poor Jansen, last year he had to face ridicule from Romanowski, this year Andrea Kramer grilled him on the Campbell pick..........and Ramsey is his bestfriend......Jansen will probably leave next.

Re: Joe Gibbs lied

we dont need a wr receiver, and we dontneed an olb. gibbs doesnt throw a his TE, he never has, they are blockers. Plus we have cooley. We filled our need at corner, and we have an insurance plan if ramsey doesnt improve. Gibbs didnt lie, im sure ramsey is our starter. Last time i checked just becuase you have a rookie qb it doesnt mean he starts. This also shows that gibbs isnt just trying to win now and then retire, hes doing what he feels is best for the team now and in the future.

Are you too young to remember Clint Diddier?

Clint was used more so as a WR though when he came in teams knew we were throwing and put a man on him, he wasen't a blocking TE, when Clint left that was it for the TE's no more passes.

Re: Joe Gibbs lied

Joe Gibbs did not lie. To say he did is nonsense - gross hyberbole from someone who just doesn't like the decisions that were made, and interprets comments in a narrow and supernegative, critical way to suit his purposes.

That's also not true. Although, Donnie Warren was primarily a blocking Tight End first, he caught his fair share of passes.

No he didn't, fair share compared to what? the Giants used to refuse to cover our TE because they said we never threw to them, we found that out when we signed an x-Giant who told Gibbs this before a game with them, now if a team flat out refuses to cover a TE what would you call it?

Re: Joe Gibbs lied

Some people here have blasted Gibbs for supposedly showing his hand too early, and now he's being blasted for supposedly not being truthful.

Huh?
