I totally agree, but why else do you think we are hanging on to him?

Because good guy gruden.
Wherever Gruden lands after this gig, Colt will be his QB coach and Rob Kelley will be coaching RBs.

Anyway, I don't think there's any intent to put Haskins in this year. If they move away from Keenum, it will probably be because Colt is ready to go. I see no reason to make a change though. Keenum is doing fine considering it's a new system for him, young receivers, no Jordan Reed, etc.

If he comes out and shits the bed against the Bears, or this team finds itself at 0-5, then I can see the conversation getting more serious.
Keenum has also had 2 sure fire ints dropped. So his numbers don't tell everything

If they were "sure fire ints" then they would have been caught.

Fact is, no stats tell the whole story, good or bad.

Some people can't catch. It is like that at times.

It's a change, but it's not the change we need to make. Getting Manusky out should be first and foremost, with Gruden a very close second.

I'd let Case go the whole season. We're going to end up with a new head coach, and unless that head coach is Kevin O'Connell, there's little value in getting Haskins any experience in this offense. The offense is just going to change on him next season.

Lets hope he is the next HC, I really like him.

So much this. Anybody who doesn't think Gruden is on the fast track to getting fired after this start is crazy. But depending on how the offense looks this year Kevin O'Connell's stock might jump like crazy too, so it's not such a far-fetched idea after all.

1. Because this is a sunk season.
2. QB play isnt even in the top 10 of things that need to be fixed short term.
3. Left side of O line is new and while they have been better than expected, it still consists of Donald Penn and Erick Flowers.
4. Right side of our O line is regressing.
5. Haskins most likely still is raw in terms of reading disguised blitzes.
6. Haskins is most likely still raw in calling and shifting protections.
7. Haskins is most likely still raw in getting the ball out quickly and "on time".
8. Haskins hangs tough in the pocket but, while a trait you want, maybe not for a rookie QB behind this line.

Haskins will start this season and hopefully they are working him in and not just having him the opposing team scout offense. The bye week might be a good time.

Ideally for me, after the Bills game week 9 he gets 1st team reps over week 10 bye and starts against the Jets.

Week 7 we play the 9ers on 10/20 then play the Vikes on thurs 10/24. I dont want to see the rookie playing the Vikings on short notice and no real install time. Jay will have to partially install the Vikes game plan before the 9ers game ... thats a lot to handle for this team.

Haskins needs to be playing by the Dolphins game. That is where I would start him since he isn't playing against Chicago or New England

Yeah .. playing his 1st game against a team like the Phins would be nice but after that week we have 9ers on 10/20 then Vikes on 10/24.

I guess I dont see the rush. Plus .. do we really want to slap our stud RT in the face again by playing a youngin who hasnt earned it over an established vet? I guess it doesnt really matter to much to me, my only concern is not getting Haskins injured. But he can get injured on his first snap in week 6 or week 11 so game planning around hypothetical injuries seems a bit silly and defeatist.

Add to that Haskins also needs to improve his footwork and learn how to protect himself better. There is no reason to throw him to the wolves.

Re: PREDICT GAME 3 AGAINST “Da Bears”

Side note :

Donald Penn was really good on Sunday, he had the 5th highest pass-blocking grade of the week with an 87.8 and didn't allow a single pressure
