Actually the fact that these alleged victims called 911 at all seems to suggest to me that they didn't steal the ATVs to begin with. If they did, why in God's name would they want the cops around? If they stole them, I would think they'd let it go, unless they are the dumbest criminals in history.

As to any deal, at this point it is out of both ST's and the alleged victims/thieves' hands. The prosecution has pressed charges. Once the state is involved, only the state can make the case go away. No private agreement between ST and the others would have any effect on the state prosecuting its case against ST.

PSU - I realize it doesn't let ST off, but I have a feeling it doesn't help them look like model citizens and their testimony may not be great. If they can't find a weapon with his prints on it, I bet that charge gets thrown out. The other charge isn't THAT big of a deal.

I bet a plea gets copped before long. Sean Taylor donates a few mil to Dade county and his problems disappear. The legal system in this country is great if you have the money to avoid it! I have a feeling he won't even see a court room, unless they feel like the state doesn't have any sort of case.

My guess is that Sean is REALLY GOOD at talking his way out of sh**. His dad is a cop, and Sean is a rebellious thug. No doubt he's developed a seriously good appology speech when coming in late as a teenager. Remember how he got out of that DWI? And he conned Gibbs and WIlliams into thinking he was a classy guy.

We'll see.

Im encouraged by that train of thought. Here I thought he was an idiot with more talent than 97% percent of the league at his position. But he now appears to be clever enough to lie. I'm excited about the future. And as soon as Sean gets out of the 1 year probation, no jail time, he will be too.

However, let's not forget that the theft of the ATVs in NO WAY exonerates ST of his crime. It does not excuse it, and it will not be a defense to the charges. In fact, a rather significant battle (to which the jury would not be privy) would, I'm sure, take place between the prosecution and the defense as to whether or not the theft is even admissible to impeach the witness. The main reason being that accusing ST of this crime in no way helps the alleged thief escape liability for his own crime. Trust me when I say a full analysis of whether the alleged theft is admissible would take pages to brief, and I'd have to do some research into Florida evidence law to do it (and I don't have time and i'm guessing most people won't care), so let's just say the theft isn't a sure bet for ST to get off (again, assuming the alleged victim did, in fact, steal the ATV).
It's just ridiculous to pull a gun in that situation. Tayor has so much money it would be like you or I pulling a gun on someone for stealing your mountain bike. You can't threaten someone with death for thinking they might have stolen something.

If he caught the guys with the ATVs when he found them, whipped thier butts, and took his stuff back, I don't think I would have as much of a problem with it.

Agree...I almost get the feeling this wasn't just anyone who allegedly stole his ATV. Could be that Taylor had some long running beef with these guys

Sean forgot that he's a millionaire. He doesn't need to get his hands (and reputation) dirty with this sort of thing. Have your "people" take care of it! Send Rosenhaus over! C'mon Sean!

Re: Sean Taylor - Will he play this season?

put yes only because at this time it looks like he'll probably get a suspension and some probation type thing worked out... that and the slow legal system probably wont decide until after he's finisshed serving his nfl suspension.

Re: Sean Taylor - Will he play this season?

He better not get more of a suspension than Jamal Lewis because what Lewis did was 10 times worse. Drug trafficing and threatening people who stole from you aren't the same ballpark. Ain't no ballpark...ain't even the same f*ckin sport. He should get half of what Lewis got. I can't remember what Lewis got now, but whatever it was divide it in half and give Sean Taylor that.

Re: Sean Taylor - Will he play this season?

The year is oh-five and my ATVs are gone
And it's time to enforce Sean Taylor's law.
I got two choices y'all, call up the cops or (hmm)
Bust out my gat until these suckas drop!
Now I ain't against no highway chase with Jake
And I'm too dumb to spend the cash to fight the case.
So I...pull over to the side of the road,
I heard "ST do you know where your ATVs are?"
In your garage? Around back? Behind that do'?
Do I look like a mind reader, punk, I don't know!
Am I gonna get my wheels or should I guess some mo'?
"Well you got plenty of dough and you can buy some more
So I think I'm gonna keep 'em. Wait, don't get out of your car,
Are you carryin' a weapon on you? I know a lot of you are."
Oh I'm steppin out of shit and I'mma lay down a hit!
"Well, I think I'm gonna run down the street a little bit!"
Well run all you want cause I'mma bust out my strap
And my boy Caughman will chase you with his baseball bat!
"Well aren't you completely wack, you some type of psycho or somethin'?
"Can't control your emotions or somethin'?"
Yeah I ain't grown up yet but I know a little bit
Enough that you won't illegally steal my shit!
"We'll see how tough you are when the five-oh come"
I got 99 problems but Coach Gibbs ain't one!
