Hope so. Difference between 4.3 and 4.5 is huge. His speed and running prowess is amazing. Agree with the notion RG3 was more of a straight line runner, whereas Daniels is more shifty and elusive. Kid really is the complete package. FedEx is going to go nuts first time he runs for a long td.

I think I like the Randall Cunningham comp the best.

He knows how to slide, he just needs to tone down the hero ball he played in college, which a lot of guys do

Re: Jayden Daniels - Commanders QB Thread

Daniels is a better passing coming out then Lamar was. Randall? Idk, tough to compare cause the game is totally different now. Imo Randall played in the wrong era. He'd be a dominant player if he was playing now w/ the way offenses are. They're totally suited for him today vs when he was playing.

I just think we have a blue chip prospect that has only scratched the surface on how good he can be. He's a rookie so rough patches are ahead. But start him day one and don't mess around w/ MM. You learn best by playing.

agree

there is a small part of me that wonders how much of the blame of sh under development is on EB's shoulders

EB was the worst part of the offense last year

Sam needed a strong running game to lean on, he should have been throwing the ball no more than 20-25 times a game. Instead EB had him dropping back like Peyton Manning in his prime. Just idiotic.

Exactly. Daniels is taller, faster release, better deep ball, overall accuracy, ability to read defenses quickly, and faster runner. Not saying Howell sucks just think Jayden has superstar NFL potential.

Again, Sam has played one full season and Daniels hasn't played a game. We will just have to see how it plays out. Remember the % of 1st round busts at QB is probably over 50%.

Re: Jayden Daniels - Commanders QB Thread

For him to be successful, we need a good running game and a better defense. I think we'll have both, resulting from major upgrades to the Coaching staff and better players.

Are there still holes? Sure, but I don't think we have gaping holes that will prevent the kid from developing at a normal, if not rapid, pace.

As always, time will tell, but my $$ is on JD being much better than SH when it's all said and done.

It's easy to get more and more excited about JD, well, at least in my head.
