Re: Joe T. Prediction for this season

Listening to Joe is like listening to Madden for me. uh duh,,,uh duh... If they want to run out the clock here, I suggest a running play, uh duh...

But I still love em both.

Who I dont like as an analyst. Riggo. God he sucks. What an arrogant prick.

Re: Joe T. Prediction for this season

Listen, Im as big a Skins fan as there is, Im sure we are all in the same boat together, we love our team very very passionately. But the fact is, Joey T is one of the worst analysts out there. Here's my all time favorite Joey T quote:

"Nobody in the game of football should be called a genius. A genius is somebody like Norman Einstein."

The guy was great to watch as a player, but he's not the sharpest knife in the drawer, that's all Im saying. For you Joey T lovers, I don't mean anything by it, I just call a spade a spade.

Oh, and I for one think Darrell Green should be a shoe in for the HOF.

After what's happened with Monk nothing would surprise me with the HOF's decision regarding Green.

Re: Joe T. Prediction for this season

Unfortunately that's true. Monk is typical of the treatment any Redskins player seems to get.

I happen to think Joey T. does a pretty good job on ESPN. He is opinionated, but usually offers some good insights. Most former football players turned announcers have made their share of mistakes too.

Re: Joe T. Prediction for this season

Joey T is a homer and I love having a Skins homer on tv because there are way too many loud mouth Cowboys on the tube, although 1 Cowboy is admittedly too many for my liking. That said, 10 wins is reasonable.

On the HOF debate, I love Art Monk but I don't think he's HOF caliber. Leaving him out is almost akin to Roger Maris not making the Baseball HOF. True Monk was the 1st wideout to break the 100 catch barrier, and he did have the consecutive game catch and most catches records but he had a much greater impact on the Skins than he did on the league. Unfortunately, his professionalism, dedication and consistency while being traits that contributed mightily to the Skins success during his tenure he was always solid and rarely spectacular.

Darrell Green, on the other hand, was an athletic marvel, a small corner who played effectively at the age of 40. He had a huge impact on games, just off the top of my head the Bears playoff game comes to mind when DG went back to receive the punt, hurt himself hurdling one guy and still had more than enough speed to take it the distance all while holding his side. Or the Minnesota playoff game he clinched by knocking down the pass in the end zone. He is in, he's got the Pro Bowls and he was amongst the top at his position for a long time.

I do think we are woefully under-represented in the HOF, three SB appearances and only 2 guys in, but I think Monk was very good but just short of HOF level. But if James Lofton is in, Monk should probably get a bust as well. I don't know that Peter King is the "gatekeeper" of the HOF but I do know that Snyder hasn't helped the perception that we have around the league and that may play a role in how even our HOF candidates are perceived.

Re: Joe T. Prediction for this season

the skins dominance of the nfl during the 80's and early 90's has a huge resemblanse(sp) to the current patriots team. i , right now, can't see more than tom brady and bill belicheck making the hall of fame.

i think 10 wins is optimistic, not reasonable.

Re: Joe T. Prediction for this season

10 win is reasonable if our defense plays like it did last year and the offense can score 1 td a game more than last year.

thats reasonable.

Mattyk72 you are right on! They should put Joe T's EGO in Canton. With that all said I believe if we sustain no major injuries we can win 10-11 games this yr.. I have a bad feeling Dallas is gonna be team to beat in our div.. But we get in as one of the wild-card teams.

No offseason "paper Lombardi" trophies = good season for us. Just wait!
