I vaguely recall the vignette you described but I can't remember any of the details. At least Dandy Don never took a crowd shot with people walking in the aisles as a reason to comment that some of the fans were out picking their seats...

Re: 36 Greatest Moments MNF
Favre after his Dad died--that was recent and pretty amazing.
I still get very psyched for Monday night, to tell the truth. Something about the music and the vibe. PS We HAVE to win in Dallas this year on Monday night. We have to.

Re: 36 Greatest Moments MNF
MNF is just too over the top these days with all the circus like environment that comes with it. Back in the day, they just showed the game, some player highlights and let Frank, Howard, and Don entertain us while calling the game. Now you have the song, the skits, the inability to admit that one team is getting their ass handed to them...it's more like one big advertisement than a game. I'm just tired of constantly being pitched to. Unless the Skins are playing or unless it is a big game, I don't tune in to it too often. And judging by the ratings, lots of others feel the same way.

Re: 36 Greatest Moments MNF
With SundayTicket and the ESPN Sunday night game, not to mention even FieldPass, Monday Night games just don't carry the same weight that they used to. Now a days it's pretty easy to see all teams every week so MNF isn't quite the event is used to be.
Nonetheless, it's pro football so I'll always watch it.

Re: 36 Greatest Moments MNF
My favorite moment was when a rookie named Earl Cambell, the Tyler Rose, rambled around the right end to an 85 yard touchdown. A star was born!!!

One of my all time favorite player's, the one play I remember on monday night with Earl was against the Rams when he spun off a tackle, and with a defender in front of him lowered his head like a Ram on the mattahorn and drilled the defender in the chest and then kept going he was the impitamy of a power runner, in his prime he was as good as there ever was. |
