I think that enough rumors about us getting rid of our top starters in hopes of replacing them for talent is getting ridicolous. Ramsey, Samuels, Bailey, Gardner, Trotter, Iffy, etc.... We have all this talk about peopel being REDSKINS, yet we keep offering to get rid of our core group of players in hopes of mabye drafting someone good. Anyone else think that we need to stop trying to get rid of people and just add some rookies, and build our team for the first time in years.

Snyder doubled the price of programs, probably just becuase of how often hes going ot have to change the roster.

You know what? I wholeheartedly agree with these statements. As phenomenal a player Lavar Arrington is, there are several other linebackers in the league right now who are playing better, and have proved much more. Lewis, Brooks, Urlacher, just to name a few.

And Showtime is right! When was the last time Arrington stopped McNabb on a crucial 3rd down conversion? The last truly game changing play he's made was the sack of Kurt Warner in the Rams game back in the '02 season.

While I don't agree we should trade Arrington, I was hoping for much more when we drafted him. One game-breaking play in two years is a little lacking for a player everyone talks about like he's some sort of god.

Still, I'd like to see what he can do in a Gregg Williams defense.

I think Lavar has always changed how defenses play us, hes in on every play. Hes ended QBs careers, and took our Brett Farve the week before he was goign to break the durability streak or something liek that. The play against the Rams had a lot to do with Gardner as well, not to take away from Lavar. I think the new coaching staff will get more out of him, he seems to get down easy and the extra motivation this year should help him become more of a leader. Trotter was always the captain and leader out there, im not sure if I agreed with that for any reason other than the fact he was the middle LB

Even if I could agree with you on this, Daseal, The recent restructuring makes it highly unlikely. I'm sure CrazyCanuck will back me on this, but with Lavar's signing bonuses, it'd be difficult to field a 53-man roster with the cap hit after this departure.

My feeling though is that unless you plan on retiring someone's jersey, they aren't untouchable. Since the Redkins can't buy a copy of Lavar's jersey to retire, he can leave.

Good point, I totally forgot about the size of his signing/roster bonus's. I must say I don't understand the cap very well, maybe I can get a FO job somewhere.

Lavar + 5 coaches in 6 seasons = great LB without stability

Lavar + Joe Gibbs + Gregg Williams = great LB with solid coaching

Lets get through the end of this season and talk Arrington trade.

I may be a son of a bitch for saying this but- I will always be an Arrington fan because he ended that bastard Troy Aikman's career. We all know he was one hit away, and I was so happy that one hit came from a Redskin. Wow, my conscience feels clear, thanks for letting me share. That said, Pros and Cons aside, this guy is a Redskin. A crazy, f_cked up, mildly retarded one, but still a Redskin.

I would like to see LaVar settle in with one defensive coordinator and one system for a good 3-4 seasons. Maybe then we'll see him reach his full potential.

Lavars not going anywhere, his cap hit would kill us and our d would suffer for it. We've built our defense around him. Everythign is about lavar. We got Washington so Lavar could play weekside. We need better dlinemen so lavar can get more pressure. We need two top flight corners so they can play man and we can blitz lavar. If we get Sean Taylor him and Lavar will be in on everyplay... I know its the time of the year when you talk about trades and rumors, but come guys, Lavar, Snyder already told us hes a Skin for life, and Lavar agress.

Does LaVar agree? We'll see what happens when he's asked to restructure again. I wouldn't be suprised to see him traded before his career ends.

LaVar is a good player, but multiple coaches don't affect your personallity. I want him to step up as a TEAM LEADER before he makes the kind of money he's supposed to. People that get paid like that bring their team to new levels.

As I said, I don't know if I agree with trading him, but I also wouldn't be totally shocked if it happened. Not with the cap hits, but who knows later in his contract!

I feel a lot of players look up to him, and I feel he lets them down horribly in the moral department.
