Re: Gibbs coach of the year?
Joe Gibbs is coach of MY year so far, but I think it's a little premature to make this call. Wk8 is Sunday and theres 9 more after that. Anything could happen. Tice could be named Coach of the Year by year's end. I doubt it but at this point anything is possible.

Re: Gibbs coach of the year?
Coach of the Year typically (though not always) goes to a team who exceeded expectations like nobody's business. I think the Bengals were expected to go far this year, and while Marvin Lewis has done a good job, it's not like he had garbage to work with.
I think we all here at the Warpath had high expectations for the Redskins, calling for them to go 10-6 and such. But nationally the Skins were expected to suck again. NOBODY thought they would do anything. That's why, if they make the playoffs, Gibbs has to get the nod. If the Giants win the NFC East you would have to consider Coughlin. |

Re: Gibbs coach of the year?
Imo, it's too early to talk about this stuff. Mainly because some teams start out like this, then end up with horrible records. Look at Denver, they have started 5-1 the past few years then faltered late in the season. Last year the Giants started out 5-2 then lost 8 of their next 9 games. We have to have more wins then last year before we start talking about this, and other things like the playoffs.
