Re: Report: Shanahan to DC done deal
Blache "betrayed" his mentor Gregg Williams. I wouldn't put it past him to do the same to Zorn. That said, I think both Blache and Grey probably had some sort of conversation with Snyder about taking over the team on an interim basis if Zorn had been fired or quit earlier on in the season.

Re: Report: Shanahan to DC done deal
The media makes it a soap opera, because they don't know yet so they make up stuff in an attempt to get the truth out. When the HC replacement become official we are going to find out that the Skins fllfiled their obligations to the Rooney Rule from the league office and we still will not find out who the minority candidate was, just like when Allen was hired. Some stuff is meant to be confidential and will remain that way.

The CP thing is really nothing new. All Skins fans I think can agree that the offense is better now that Lewis is here too. The Rooney Rule thing is overblown. Do you really think DS would not adhere to the Rooney Rule? Do people out there think he would be that stupid? Come on...it's a little overblown. It's the media looking for an evil story against DS. |

If Shanny comes won't that be a reunion for the two, CP and Shanny. If I recall correctly there was little love lost between the two when CP was shipped off for Champ.

Re: Report: Shanahan to DC done deal
CP wanted more money in Denver but I'm not sure how much animosity, if any, there was between Shanahan and Portis because of that. Does anyone have the scoop?

Portis can't be cut soon enough for my taste.

Re: Report: Shanahan to DC done deal
I think Shanahan felt he could turn any RB into gold so they cut ties with CP.

Re: Report: Shanahan to DC done deal
If I recall correctly, there wasn't any huge animosity. Portis just wanted more money, and Kubiak was the real fan of Portis and the guy who pushed for the Broncos to draft him. Not so much Shanahan

Re: Report: Shanahan to DC done deal
i cant believe you guys would be happy starting the season with Betts, Cartwright, and any other scrub. i was listening to a syndicated fantasy radio show this morning, and they said the only people that could name the redskins running backs were fans of the team. if Portis is cast off, we need a top caliber replacement.

I agree, plus RB's now a days are such flashes in the pan. They wear out so damn quick from the beatings.
