Do not know of any rule that prohibits it. In the NFL, if there is no rule to prohibit something, it is OK - - until they say it is not OK.
I presume it would still be legal.

i'd take orton or campbell over gerrard. I'd still prefer Flynn. We need one of them BEFORE the draft just in case we can't swing a trade.

Re: I See QB Rumors (2012 QB Thread: The Sixth Sense)
Peyton news
Report: Peyton hits a plateau | ProFootballTalk could take up to a year to know if he will be able to play again. If I were the Skins, after he was released I'd offer him as a QB with the understanding he's helping to coach and when or if he's ever healthy he could start again. I just don't think he will be healthy enough and he'd be better served as a coach not only to assist with the young guys but he'd be another young coach to side with KS down the road plus all his knowledge of plays and routes. |

I would think if anything, for us I guess it would be bad news if he retires Not because the Skins would go after him, it would just reduce the no. of scenarios & options league wide in the QB carousel. I'd still prefer to see him retire rather than play elsewhere or play to a lesser standard. |

He'll probably announce his retirement after the Super Bowl as to not step on Eli's moment in the spotlight.

Re: I See QB Rumors (2012 QB Thread: The Sixth Sense)
If he does announce his retirement, I'll bet he waits until training camp. He's going to want to take time to see how everything is shaking out and leave room for a miracle recovery if need be.

I think he's done. I'd be surprised if he found a doctor clearing him to play.

good point, the colts will have to make a couple decisions prior to that. Likely both will be to cut ties w/PM

My sources tell me that redskins are going after QBs in the following order
1. Andrew Luck 2. Sam bradford 3. Colt Mccoy 4. Nick Foles 5. Ryan Mallet 6. RG3 7. Mark Sanchez |

Mallett? Really? Seems unlikely.

Bradfors has had what 2 yrs and still has not lived up to his 1st round billing and I doubt he does. He is a QB I feel if everything else around him was exceptional ie; OL, and WR's then he will flourish but the problem is I don't see the Skins in any better shape then the Rams were yet he's supposed to do better? Of all the active QB's I'd say McCoy really didn't have the best weapons or OL and should be given some time with a better scenario, but I don't think the Skins need to trade for him. If he's cut then I'd say pick him up. Mallet- no thanks. I'd rather keep Grossman and we know what we have in Grossman. I wonder why RGIII is so low if that truly is the list order? I'd rather have him over Bradford (and the Rams must feel the same). Sanchez- I never bought in to him being a franchise QB and still have not. If my options wer to get him or try the draft I'd go draft and see what Tannehill, Weeden, Cousins, or Wilson could do. Why isn't Flynn in there? If that was my list I'd just take next best available QB and quite possibly look at taking another in the 2nd round. Maybe trade back in the 1st round to get more picks to accomplish this. Tannehill and Wilson duo would be neat. (this coming from a Weeden fan.) |
