Bench reps are a weird thing. Back in high school we did the Bench test with 135. I definitely didn't have the highest bench on the team but for some reason I put up the second most reps.

How many reps you can do doesn't indicate how strong you are, it indicates how much stamina you have....I had expected at least 30 from him or any first round offensive tackle.

short arms and a barrel chest help bench. However guys with 36" arms that put up 38 reps are pretty damn strong (Okung). Huge difference between 38 and 23 reps. Of course bench isn't everything.
