Re: Jay Gruden you are our only hope
At least Colt did not look like a high school QB..RGIII is done in washington! ..If Gruden thought that it was even a small chance that Robert was ever going to be the answer at QB he never would have said those things about Robert in public..he knew it was over! what bothers me is that Gruden knew this all along..if the front office/owner would have listened they could have played Colt and Most likely traded RGIII for at least something..but after He started at Tampa and his level of play is at a high school level and all the other teams know this..whats his value now? At best 4th round ..If the skins flat out waive RGIII the Jets are the only team that would pick him up ..what team wants the drama..lets face it the SKINS blew this deal from day one..I don't fault them so much for the pick but how much they gave up for it..if you remember cleveland also wanted RGIII ..they refused to give away the future for him and stayed pat..look at them now and look at us! the sad part its not over Snyder is already looking at the next Shiny toy he can get..Winston is on the list for sure. How about drafting the best OL out there..give protection to who ever is the QB of the future..and can somebody tell me why Colt is not even being considered as a legit QB..I know he does not have a big arm but my goodness at least he looked like he can read a defense and make the average throws..if i remember correct Joe Montana did not have a cannon ..he just understood the game. I am tired of the latest greatest college Qb that comes into the league and thinks he is already all pro..maybe what the Skins need is a Colt type QB ..no drama, hard worker..TEAM player..studies the game ..goes out on sunday and makes the simple stuff work . If the Redskins have to have Brady or Rogers to win games then we will never win another title..sometimes you have to game plan with what you have ..WITH RGIII you can't have a game plan with Colt you can!

Re: Jay Gruden you are our only hope
If he's one and done, who the hell would want to coach this team? Dennis Allen?

I guess the next coach is going to be told straight up that he plays RG3 period or its his job.... I shudder to think of who the next coach might be....

Re: Jay Gruden you are our only hope
IF Gruden is one and done then we will have moved below the belly of Cleveland. While I cannot fathom life without football my Sundays have been more relaxed since said in my heart eff'em. Firing a solid hire like Gruden would move me closer to out the door. I already don't listen to the NFL like I did just last year, cancelled Sirius radio NFL package, and overall just have little desire to give myself over to it.
The Warpath really is my last external link to football consuming my life and I don't post / check it nearly as much now. Last edited by CRedskinsRule; 11-25-2014 at 08:14 PM. |

Re: Jay Gruden you are our only hope
I don't particularly like thinking about this, but if Gruden benches Griffin(which is likely if he keeps playing poorly) and still doesn't win with McCoy(also likely), I think there's a decent chance he'll be one and done here, unless he sticks with Griffin long enough to convince Snyder that he really is a lost cause.
I also wonder if Gruden makes Snyder uncomfortable with his criticism(both public and private)of Griffin? That might play a part too. Firing Gruden after one year would be a very stupid move IMO. And I also don't think Griffin is a lost cause. What he needs the most right now is confidence. I think that would take care of a lot of issues(taking the wrong drop, for example) and allow Gruden and Griffin to focus on developing the things that really need to be developed(going through his reads, for example) and aren't just a matter of confidence/not thinking too much. And some stuff like feeling pressure in the pocket just comes with playing time. My two(disjointed and parenthesized) cents... Last edited by SirLK26; 11-25-2014 at 08:11 PM. |

Re: Jay Gruden you are our only hope
Gruden's brutal assessment of RG seems accurate to me. Do we let RG keep playing for the rest of this debacle of a season or do we try to win with McCoy now?

^ Win what with McCoy exactly? This season is already lost. It's evaluation time.

I realize that it is important to give Griff every chance we can, but there are other players on the team that might not like losing. Winning is important. It is mentally important to the other players and this Staff to win games. Even if they are "meaningless". In my heart I want Griff to succeed and pay off for us. It would be the best possible scenario for a handful of reasons. We wouldnt need to adress the QB position being the most important. In my head though I know its over. Sorry. Just how I see it. His mechanics, pocket awareness, and ability to see the field are God awful. If they were just bad than I would reserve hope. Just bad. They are God awful. I think that winning is much needed for the confidence of this team and coaching staff going forward. It is not an exercise in futility because the games are meaningless. Holding out hope for Griff and more losing probably is though imo. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Re: Jay Gruden you are our only hope
Snyder has an ego, no doubt, but I really don't think he's dumb.
He watches games, probably even watches tape. He has to be slowly coming to the same realization that most of the rest of us are arriving at. I agree with the sentiment that you never go into a game to lose....never. Screw a few draft spots....we'd probably get the 2nd pick and mess it up again anyway! |

Jay Gruden you are our only hope

I was baffled by him too, until I saw him with my own eyes win the Titans game, and the Dallas game. Do you really think, after seeing Griff play, that he could not have made the difference against the Vikings, Bucs, and Niners? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
