Philly Carson Wentz contract will push the cowboys to do something stupid. Cowboys outplayed
$34M per year for Prescott? My initial reaction was "You have GOT to be kidding me". Nevertheless, in view of the ridiculous contract the Vikings signed with Cousins, who knows?

Re: All things NFL Offseason 2019.

I'm guessing Dak will get a deal that will put him among the top paid QB's. It's not that anyone thinks he's the best in the league but he falls into that good enough category. Cowboys will cash-strap themselves by resigning him to a 5 year, $152M contract. $26M in year 1, moving up towards $35M in year 5. Could tack on some incentives for probowls and superbowls etc. and a 6th year mutual option for $40M. All just a guess but I think I'm going to be close. With the way QB salaries are going, if he's a top 6 QB in 6 years, they'll be happy to pay him $40M. Otherwise, they can choose not to pick up the option but it gives him and his agent a $190M, 6 year contract to talk about and look like they won out big. Hoping that he gets it, then does a whole bunch of nothing for 5-6 years setting the team back for the next decade.

Mentioned on Colin Cowherd the other day that allowing coaches to challenge pass interference calls or non calls will create an issue with Hail Mary plays.
Typically the referees rarely call P.I. on them unless somebody gets tackled while the ball is in the air. What are they going to do now?

It’s a booth review in the last two minutes of a half

Only scoring plays and turn overs, right? If the hail Mary is incomplete how would they look at a non call?

Hail Marys aren’t going to be called any different, I don’t know why some think this is an issue

Given the NFL's catch/no catch issues of the last few years, and their inability to not screw up even with replay available, I think it's easy to understand how somebody might expect them to screw this up too.

I hope they continue to let that be a basic free for all except in the most egregious cases, but it won't shock me if the first hail mary that is successful isn't booth reviewed as offensive pass interference.

When there becomes numerous examples of pass interference on tape complete with the results of reviews how are they going to justify having the same action result in a different decision just due to the fact the play was a last second Hail Mary and not a go route that was thrown into heavy coverage? We shall see.

I understand the referees swallowing their whistle on Hail Marys. The same as NBA ref do on inbound plays in the paint during the final seconds of a tight game. I venture if the NBA started reviewing foul calls there would be issues with the way those situations are called.

Nobody wants reviews of Hail Marys, it would be totally ridiculous

Re: All things NFL Offseason 2019.

RIP to the Hefty Lefty. I'll always remember him for the fantastic nicknames, Pillsbury Throwboy was another great one.

My condolences to his family and friends though, 38 is way too young.
