Fraley: Cowboys' Tony Romo 'like a ghost' in the locker room | Dallas Cowboys News - Sports News for Dallas, Texas - SportsDayDFW

Interesting. I always got the impression on game days that Tony was a leader.

i dont know why the packers would franchise a back up QB, its not like Rodgers is old and about to retire. i hope the do franchise him and then no one signs him and are forced to sign him to that tender. its got to pretty high number for the franchise tag on a QB.

But you also have to look at it from the team's perspective...there is a market for Flynn so I am sure they want to get something for him.

Although, I guess teams can just wait it out and play chicken with the Packers and not have to give up any picks for Flynn.

true there is a market for him, but he has played in like 2 regular season games. for a team to give up a #1 for him and then pay him is a lot for a relatively unproven QB.

I guess my question is...do they have to trade him for a 1st rounder? And actually that's a question that I have for the more knowledgeable folks: Can a team tag a player with a first-round tender and then trade that player for a 2nd or 3rd rounder?

Re: Around the NFL - Offseason thread

Forgive me for being lazy and looking for it or either getting off of the current subject, but what is the inside information Chris Cooley? Any talks of him being cut, traded, staying with the team? Anything at all? Health info?

I think he returns, probably at a lower price. But I'd be surprised if he goes anywhere

I'm happy with that. I really hope Chris Cooley has a chance to bounce back this year and at least be close to what he was before the injuries. I cannot picture him in any other uniform except for a 'skins uni.

Re: Around the NFL - Offseason thread

I think CC said he could have returned during the season if he wasn't on IR. Doubt he goes anywhere either.

Don't worry I'm not going anywhere. I'm fully healthy and willing to restructure to help the team. Not ready to concede my starting job to the pothead quite yet.
