It's not like the defense is completely devoid of talent like some fans would like to believe- Josh Wilson, Kerrigan, Bowen, Cofield, Fletcher. Not to mention the potential that the younger defensive players have and have even shown. Don't tell me that a good defensive coordinator couldn't get way more out of this group than Haslett.
Absolutely they could. Haslettusdownagain must go. I dont know how the hell the guy keeps getting jobs. We are not the least talented group in the league we just play like it. Schemes are all wrong for every situation. This is his last year here and hopefully in the nfl period. Well scratch that maybe dallas will hire him for something.

are your numbers supposing that the d didn't contribute 2 TD's And a first down at the 1?

Our O has scored 33, 21, and 24. So holding a team to 25, would leave us at 1 -2 Right?

any way, our defense needs to not give up long bombs like lollipops. so far it's been like taking candy from a baby, a lot of kicking and whining, but not really stopping anyone.

They probably would. We've had top 10 defenses in all but two years from 2002-2009. (2003 and 2006 being the only times we fell outside the top 10). We've already matched it since Haslet came and are on pace to fall outside the top 10 for the third straight year.

The defensive front is better then ever even with the injuries. I know the secondary sucks but this is a league where dominant Super Bowl winning defenses have masked weak secondaries multiple times with strong front 7's. Then again Morris is in charge of the secondary and the secondary has been the achilies heal of the defense so not sure if he'll be much better.

I'm just trying to get the best 7 players on the field. Leaving a healthy Cariker on the sidelines in favor of someone like Keenan Robinson when Rak had success at OLB is a mistake if you ask me. Still the irony of it all is it confirms that we are now most definitely a 3-4 team.

And give Mike Zimmer a ton of money to be our d-coord.

Re: Redskins vs. Bengals Post Game Reaction

I think that is classless.
All team have to deal with poor officiating not just the Redskins.
The refs suck, he has to adjust and deal with it.
Daniel Snyder needs to chase down Kyle and ask him why the Redskins are 11-40 on third downs. only Tampa has a worse 3rd down conversion ratio.
I don't understand how they can average 5 yards per carry and be so bad on third downs.

Good point. I think everyone is just so fed up with the refs ( not just because of the redskins) that its nice to hear that anyone is letting them have it. But i agree - everyone is harping on the defense - and for good reason. But truth be told our offense could be even better.

Someone needs to chase down Dan Snyder and ask him to push for this ref lockout to end. Kyle will get fined for this I am sure, but he needs to tell his dad to talk to their boss about the whole ref situation.

At least he didn't pull a Belicheat and take a swipe at the ref.

Re: Redskins vs. Bengals Post Game Reaction

One thing that Haslett should know if he doesn't already - he needs to be up at least 20 hours a day this week to fix these problems. Instead of fixing anything and improving from game to game, it's actually gotten worse. If this trend continues, I can reasonably predict that Haslett will be fired within 2 games. At this point, the redskins defense is an embarrassment.

I agree with you on that. We have talent over there.

Overrated.

How many of these guys start for another NFC east team outside of Fletcher?
Our two "Young Studs" aren't as good as Osi-JPP, Cole-Babin and Ware-Spencer.

Let's see - hmmm - I know at least 2 of them would- because Bowen and Cofield actually did before they came to the Redskins.

And are you saying that it's the players that are mostly at fault?
