Well Raheem won't be coaching the secondary next year so it won't be an issue for too long...

But really, I don't think it's related to Raheem. The only thing I guess I'd put on him is he vouched for Tanard Jackson. But that's more so Tanard letting him down I suppose

I'm going to assume Raheem is either going to get fired (because Haslett feels threatened by him), or the whole defensive coaching staff is getting canned, or he got a job offer from a college team or something since no NFL team would probably give him a coordinator job based off how the secondary is playing right now.

Why wont he be coaching the secondary next year? You've shot down others assumptions but not told us.

Without knowing the true source of our secondary woes, i cant say I think Raheems the problem and he should be fired....

but i cant imagine him getting promoted to DC somewhere as bad as our secondary has performed. Fair or not, hes the position coach for the worst secondary in the NFL, and that reflects on him.

FS and SS. Atogwe veteran former pro bowler at FS and Landry a quality SS. this year we tried to replace them with jackson and merriweather who I consider to be downgrades but decent enough but they both have not seen the field.

Atogwe was not good last year, as is evidenced by the fact he's not playing football this year. Landry is not a quality SS. I'd say he's average at best.

If youre saying the changes at safety are the reason our entire secondary is so bad, then the guys we have playing must be REALLY bad.

I know I won't be agreed with but here goes.It was a good and" typical" NFCE game ,records don't matter in these games ...they never have.Skins have a lot to be happy with and to a man on the Giants ,from Coughlin on down all were singing RGIII's praise.Giants lost to the eagles by 2 pts,Cowboys by 7 and just beat you guys by 4,if not for those 9pts we would be undeafeted now,yet it's the NFCE and as always the games are good and close, records be damn.
"Bobs" going to have a long career, every game has wouldas ,couldas and such. The two teams were sizing each other up in the first half and both made adjustments in the second,in the end it was turnovers that decided this game that and Eli ...being Eli,nothing else.

The turnovers played a part, no question. But those two pitiful calls that went against us that took points off the board IMO was the difference, not the turnovers.

Yet you were still ahead even after the calls ,sorry turnovers kill teams.

true but we should've been ahead by more. that illegal shift call took 7 points off the board. even aikman commented that the call sucked. and don't get me started on that leg whip. just pathetic.

Eli being Eli was my biggest concern coming into the game and having all of those miscues earlier in the game (turnovers, missed opportunities in the red zone and not being able to capitalize off both turnovers) didn't help in that aspect.

I do agree with you that turnovers decided the game. People can fixate on the blown coverage at the end, but if those turnovers don't happen earlier on, we have a different ball game.

Re: Skins/Giants post game thread

I know that it is weak to blame the officials but I'm going to make an exception this time. IMO, poor officiating cost us this game because we should have been ahead by more than a TD going into the 4th Qtr. If we had been ahead at that time, I think RGIII and Morris would have kept us there.

The procedure call on Fred Davis in the 2nd Qtr was as nit-picking as it gets and it cost us a TD. Then, the phantom leg-whipping call on Tyler Palumbus cost us a 1st Down at the Giants 12-yard line. The supposed foul by Palumbus was far away from the play and he never even touched the defensive player. That's between 7-14 points taken away by poor officiating.

Meanwhile, the Giants' RT had a choke hold on Kerrigan on pass plays all game long but that was never called.

The outrageous call on Palumbus was the turning point of the game. I thought that Mike Shanahan should have given the officials an earful after the TD was called back just to give them something to think about for the rest of the game. If he had, perhaps the phantom foul on Palumbus wouldn't have been called.

The procedure call was definitely lame.

The leg whip, eh, he did stick his leg up as he rolled. That's going to be called when the refs see it. It wasn't totally egregious but I can understand that one.

I thought it was terrible honestly. Not bad enough to warrant a call. It's one of those things they never call unless it is egregious or clearly affected the play. It was neither. But in the end we didn't lose because of that specifically. 4 TOs isn't good enough to get it done.

You simply can't make that leg whip call. Polumbus fell down and did not intentionally try and leg whip anyone and no one even got tripped up. Just an atrocious call that ruined our drive. The other one against Davis was just as bad. Those two calls played an outcome of the game and that should never ever happen. Whoever made those calls should be sat down next week.
