re: Peppers signs with the Bears (updated - again)

Despite his perceived lack of passion for the game, we're still talking about a guy that's almost a lock for 10+ sacks per year and has been one of the most productive players at his position since he came in to the league.

I'm not crying that we're not getting him, I think we've got a lot of needs where we need to spend money on... but I think a lot of people are underestimating the kind of player he is.

I was guilty of that. But I still would be happy not to sign him because of value-for-the-money concerns.

I'm guilty of it as well, i just think he constitutes too high of a risk, not only of not performing himself, but the demoralizing effect it would have on the team - to bring in a free agent, pay him haynesworth money, and then watch him act like he doesn't care about football. he could get away with that to a certain degree in carolina because he was a home-grown draft pick, a "true" panther - but i think the team moral problems would be amplified significantly if peppers comes in as a free agent, makes a ton of money, and then doesnt put forth the effort to show he's worth it.

Re: Redskins expected to pursue Peppers

LL56 is the only source who i "respect" over there. he's legit and doesnt make stuff up. that said, he appears to have been wrong in this case.

Wow, Bears doing well...too bad Cutler screwed them out of so many draft picks...they have a lot of ground to make up.

They have OL issues like us, not sure what good Taylor is going to do for them until they address that
