Re: Redskins trade for Alex Smith

By the way, the Redskins got fleeced big time. The 49ers gave up a 2nd rounder for Jimmy G. Redskin gave Fuller and 3rd rounder. Jimmy G. Will be a much better QB than Smith, book that.

Smith is a "known quantity",Jimmy G was not at the the time of the trade. As someone else said people need to wait and see.I think that this was a good deal for everyone all around.

When was the last time those dummies actually won a trade? They always get bent over backwards when it comes to doing a deal involving a QB. And the fact that Andy Reid has fucked them twice just makes me want to bitch slap some sense into Allen.

The reason we keep getting fuck is simple to see. Andy Reid and his front office went out and got a QB they loved last year. They didn't need to, but they have a plan.

Skins consistently don't have a plan...they are reactive and therefore get their ass handed to them routinely. This Alex Smith trade, folks this is nothing new. Fuller in the trade is again epically poor.

Now look at the Facts..Cousins has gotten better in a system that seemed to fit him better as time went on. Look at the injuries in the oline, ZERO at WR, ZERO RUNNING GAME, best TE out.... his passing yards, accuracy, yards per attempt, etc..........he had a great season.

Alex Smith had the NFL rushing leader, a stable oline, much better receiving core and a top 3 receiving TE...had his best year

We just gave a 33 year old QB 71 million guaranteed on a 4 year extension and folks are fucking telling me nothing to worry about with the history of Danny and Bruce?

All I'm telling you is that Smith and Cousins are at the very least, equals. If you don't think so, then you don't understand just how bad turnovers hurt your chances to win football games.

I can't say I have confidence in Bruce Allen. But we're not at all worse than we were in 2017.

The Smith move was a wise one and improves our chances at building a winner. That doesn't mean I have a high confidence that Bruce can lead us by building a winner.

The difference is we have Doug Williams now, he's doing more than people think. Jay also now has a QB that can scramble and doesn't turn the ball over.

Kirk had 13 ints and 13 fumbles this yr. Smith had 6total. Huge difference.

Yeah Alex wont have many 350 yards games but he will still have 26 tds next yr because hes great in the RZ.

The two situations are barely comparable.
Yes they are both QBs that got traded. That's pretty much where the similarities end.

Alex Smith has a long career as an effective NFL starter. Has led his team to the playoffs. And was under contract for another year so the Chiefs were under no time crunch to trade him.

Jimmy G has been a backup. Played effectively in the backup role but didnt have a large track record of starting. And his contract ended this year, so the Patriots were going to have to make a decision on his status and value.

Again to me this is a WIN WIN for the skins and Kirk, he gets what he wants and that has always been to be begged by teams to come play and to leave BA.. We get a proven good QB, that can win many games with the right cast around him NOW ITS UP TO BRUCE to build that cast.

Seems like some people just want to stomp their feet and whine. Let us know when you want to move up to the big boy table and talk about moving on.

So do you honestly think the Redskins have managed their QB situation correctly since Allen has come on?

No. Nobody's saying they have. But that shit happened three years ago and you clearly haven't dealt with it. I was angry and sad, like you, but I think I realistically assessed that it was OVER with Cousins. The difference is between those whining and those ready to move on, is we recognized that the bed was made, and that Cousins was never coming back. You somehow held out hope.
It was irrational. Move on.

I'm forward-focused. Smith is a good (not great) QB, just like Cousins. Do I have confidence Allen can build a winner around him? Not really. But the opportunity is there.

Well I would rather whine than cyber bully.. LOL.

Also we are here to express our opinions. Mine happens to be anger and frustration from the incompetence of the front office. You express your opinions differently. If everyone here had the same opinions this place would be boring as fuck. That's what makes it fun.
