Hopefully this isn't in the Terrell McClain bust territory bad. That was horrible last year.

Ive already mentioned this would be an huge downgrade from Fuller...

Are you grading Scandrick based on his poor performance on the outside, or are you grading Scandrick based on his much better performance in the slot when he was there in his earlier days?

Either way still have to discount whatever grade we give him because of injury risk. But I wanted to point out that he's been good in the slot.

Lets not forget we have Dunbar who could play the #2 CB spot if needed, he's proven to be a good player.

At this point I hope he's strictly a slot guy. Moreau or Dunbar should be starting on the outside.

Yeah, to echo others' thoughts, if he's in the slot, meh, but ok. I can't believe they'd sign him to play outside.

If Scandrick is forced into a starting role in any capacity for more than a couple of games, it's going to be a long season.

Scandrick is the dude you are going to be yelling at for a while.

Re: Redskins free agent signings 2018

So Hankins last year took a low base salary, with bonus that was able to be prorated, and then this year and next were salaries of 8M. I think unless he doesn't want to be here, we should be able to use a similar structure to keep his cap hit around 8 million. I would sign him for 4 years, with good roster guarantees this year and next to make it attractive to get him, and try to leave an out at the 3rd year roster bonus.

He has a good market though so our offer will need to make him feel wanted

Yes he is,I always like him. But the Giants got lucky last year with Snacks and Tomlinson so we're set in the NG position.

Ugh. I'm starting to get annoyed now. I'd rather have used Scandricks money to add some sugar on top of Hankins deal. Way easier to draft slot cornerback and let him battle out with Holsey than to find a big ole hog-molly like Hankins. Frustrating.

Agreed.
If we end up sign Hankins we'll probably forget about it, but if we don't, I'll hate th is signing, would have preferred to find a slot/depth CB in the draft!

I really hope we don't have to rely on Scandrick for any big roles this year, a guy with his injury history who is several years removed from his decent days in the slot doesn't look like a solid pickup to me. Hope I'm wrong though.

Health has been biggest issue. Apparently he's pretty solid in the slot, but we don't want him on the outside. Would need to reasearch to see his writing on outside vs. inside. Lot of money for an older guy that is limited. In the backdrop of Hankins leaving, I'm not a fan of the deal.
