Should have happened when he fired the Polians. No reason for him to keep his job after a 2-14 season.
Yeah this was an easy move back when Polian was fired, as it is now.

Re: Coaching Changes

That was weird. espn reported that the Colts will retain him, then 5 minutes later it's breaking news that he's fired. That place is falling apart without you, SS.

See the problem is that SS always carried ESPN on his back, and the worldwide leader got very comfortable and never thought of the day they would need to move on without him. Now they will suffer a terrible season, although with a terrible record they will be able to draft that young hot-shot journalist who is coming out of Stanford in next year's draft.

The press release was real misleading. And I quote:

...until the end of this sentence. Ok, that sentence is done. He's fired. Hope no media outlets didn't read halfway through this press release and misjudge anything, if any of them did it's my bad. Peace!

Of course he's not but he doesn't have to worry about it cause he's not going to be there anyway. My guess is he'll be here.

Yeah i believe that as well. Its just been really strange the series of events and the timing. Final indication of whether Peyton stays or goes will be head coach choice.

Agreed.. If they bring in a defensive coach (Spags, Zimmer, etc) or someone that runs a different offense, this is a perfect time to turn the franchise over. Let Manning, Wayne, Mathis, Saturday and all the aging free agents go, draft Luck, be smart about targeting younger players in free agency and try to build another decade of winning football.

My money says Peyton hits the open market March 8.

I'm not dead but this team is dead to me...but now that McCloughan is here they may have new life!

Jay Gruden = Zorny McSpurrier
Kirk Cousins = Next Grossman

The owner made a comment saying that he would never trade Manning. If he's healthy he's playing if he's not he will cut him. I too think Manning will be let go and will be a FA, but my concern is will he be healthy? we've heard rumors that a ton of FB players get the same surgery and return to playing all the time. We hear Payton was informed he could start working out a little harder. Then we hear there is a rumor that Paytons doctor basically said Payton should not play FB ever again for possibly face being paralized.

Whats the truth? Will he be able to play? Why is it taking longer then the 12 weeks stated that it normally takes to get back on the field? Should a ton of money be thrown at Payton for him to play somewhere only to find out he can't play? Would Vet min. get him? lol. and lastly since he loves the game of FB would he be willing to sign a contract that if he can't play then he will be an Asst. Coach in some capacity? I think his knowledge alone would be extremely valuable to the team and any QB brought in if he was willing.
