They have all there draft picks this year, and last December they CRUSHED the 49ers.

We should give them the proper respect for building a lot of talent through the draft and having 2 SB rings with Eli.

I am a hardcore Skins fan, but I don't think we should overrate our roster that has RG3, a pretty mediocre OL and Defensive talent and act like the Giants aren't a threat....
In my opinion Jerry Reese is one of the top 2 GM's in the NFL, just check his resume and draft picks.

“The greatest happiness is to vanquish your enemies, to chase them before you, to rob them of their wealth, to see those dear to them bathed in tears, to clasp to your bosom their wives and daughters.” G Khan

It's how I feel about the possible collapse of the NFC East, then the NFL, before the mighty RGIII-lead burgundy and gold army.

It's 'our' time. We can be like the Niners during their heyday when their divisional competition was practically non-existent, allowing them to ease into the post-season year after year.

Dynasty.

I think it will still come down to the Giants and Redskins. But I love what has happened in recent years with the Skins.

I'm so glad Fred Davis is back. I'm just wondering. Did anyone else feel like he was going to be a bigger weapon in the offense w/ RGIII as QB than he really was before he got hurt? I felt like he could be a top 5 TE, but we was doing about as good as he was with Grossman at QB. With Grossman, I remembered Davis being underthrown on a number of occasions where he was wide open down the field. With the upgrade at QB, I was dying to see those plays be TDs, but it just didn't happen. Maybe, it was because he didn't play as much with Pierre on the field too, so DEFs keyed on him more? I'm glad he's back on a prove it deal, and I hope he does. Let's lock up Antoinne now!

Aside from the first 2 games, Fred was a beast before he got hurt. He wasn't making many plays down the field or in the redzone but he was a first down machine for us. True, without having Garcon on the field it was hard to truly see what impact he could have being matched up only on a LB but the potential is unreal.

Think about it from a defensive coordinator standpoint.. You have to account for a 1,600 yard back in Morris, a potential game breaking WR in Garcon, chain movers in Morgan and Hankerson AND a big, fast TE in Davis.. Oh, BTW there's that QB with 67% accuracy, a cannon for an arm who just still may run faster than most of the players on your defense..

I'm lovin it.

It looks great on paper....plus don't forget about Robinson. I'd like to see him take the next step and become more of a complete wr.

we've retained 21 of 22 starters on a playoff team that showed dramatic improvement in the 2nd half of the season. Our only loss was a mediocre starting cornerback. we've added some cheap depth, resigned our core guys, and the draft hasnt even happened yet. Despite the cap penalty, its hard for me not to be optomistic about our chances entering the 2013 season.

I expect the Skins to sign Winfield. That's because I don't think he would have stayed in the D.C. area this long (even though his agent has been sick) unless he had a strong interest in playing for the Skins.

I agree with those who think he would be a very good short term solution at CB.

Really like this off-season so far. If we manage to somehow pick up a solid corner I would be very pleased.

I'm not sure if anyone else has brought this up, but does anyone else feel that the salary cap penalty the last two years was kind of a blessing in disguise? I mean it forced us to get fiscally responsible, kept us from over spending on high priced free agents and made us focus on building through the draft. The free agents we have picked up are more to solidify and add depth to our team as opposed to making a huge free agency splash.

I agree with CRedskins. I think it has a lot more to do with the changes to the front office than with not having money. There were a lot of contracts we could have restructured to push money into future years. Instead we made some hard choices. Cut some veterans and asked others to take pay cuts, not restructures. We're setting ourselves up for being competitive going forward. There's nothing wrong with getting some big name FAs, you just want to make sure they're on the right side of 30 before signing them.

I would have loved a shot at some of the CBs out there this year, because it fills a need. We didn't have it, the FO stayed disciplined and found value.

How can loosing 30 some million in salery be a blessing. Our Front office changed and our stupid spending had stopped at that time. Think what we could have done with that cap space.

I know the current FO is a LOT different than the Cerrato era but they are susceptible to the temptation to over spend on free agents as well. IE, how much did josh Morgan get paid last year?

I would rather not have the penalty myself but I also admit this off season has been a bit of a refreshing change.

The only problem with Fletcher is he's a short term solution. Maybe we should get an ILB in the draft, he could spend this year learning from Fletcher.

We can easily make over 40MM in cap room next year. Thats enough to sign quite a few "long term solutions." I'm fine with rolling with a couple old guys this year, so long as they still perform and we can afford them.
