Re: Expectations for the rest of the season...
I'd be curious to see if anyone predicts that we will beat SF this weekend. And if so, why (other than the fact that any given week, crazy things happen).
I am only hoping it isn't a complete blowout. If we get crushed something like 45-10, imagine how much worse things will get on this board and with the media.

There have been two games we had no chance to win this year. Oddly enough against the stinkin bucs n stinkin giants. I think we lose but it will be like 31-17. We will hang around for a bit. |

Re: Expectations for the rest of the season...
I am not sure we have much of a chance against the Seahawks either, actually. While it was only 10 points, Seattle always seemed to calmly be in control, and I never felt during that game that we were going to somehow come back and pull ahead. But we do tend to play to the level of competition -- crappy against bad teams (Titans, Bucs, Giants -- with Jax being the exception) and reasonably well against good teams (Dallas, Seattle, Cardinals, Eagles).
I have always believed that teams which do that don't have strong leaders. You have to be able to go out and smash weaker opponents, and good leaders help make that happen. That worries me about this team. A lot. I like Gruden, but I am hoping he might have a moment like the baseball coach in Bull Durham where he comes into the showers and starts throwing bats. Per Crash Davis: "They're kids. Scare them." Or better still, let's get a few of the vets to grab guys by the pads and tell them to STFU and play football.

Re: Expectations for the rest of the season...
Here's my layman's opinion. Throughout RG3's entire career he was able to turn his mistakes into big plays. Understandably, that makes you sloppy. If you constantly wiggle out of a bad situation and make it a great one, you get used to doing that and learn to rely on that. During the playoff game vs. Seattle, RG3 lost that ability for the remainder of his career.
RG3 is slow. RG3 does not have acceleration anymore. RG3 cannot turn botched plays into big gains with his legs. I've watched him get caught from behind by defensive linemen. His rookie season, no LB would catch him from behind and he would glide by a DE. He's had so many surgeries on his legs and he's lost that explosion that made him special. Now he's having to rely on his head and his arm more than his legs and he's failing. It's clear he doesn't have the fundamentals. We paid too much for a kid that is nice but lacks football intelligence and football fundamentals.

Re: Expectations for the rest of the season...
i'd like to see the players stop talking to the media, so they don't have to spend so much time talking about what they (or someone else) said last time they talked to the media.
it'd be a shame to waste these last 6 games 2013 style. there's a lot of work that needs to be done. |

Re: Expectations for the rest of the season...
Just out of curiosity, is anyone so optimistic to think we will 2 more games this season?

Re: Expectations for the rest of the season...
WILL NOT WIN ANOTHER GAME THIS SEASON!! unless they bench RGIII…then they might win two….top 5 pick in the 2015 draft..thats what we need. Robert is lost right now and my guess is he will get benched at SF and Colt will come in and make some plays..but not enough with the crap defense we have..trust me the skins are right now the worst team maybe in all of pro sports..total failure and it starts at the top..I have been FAN since 1969 I can't take it anymore...

If I had to wager I would say we finish the year 3-13. At SF, at Indy. At Giants. Cowboys, Eagles. Get the Rams at home, but they just crushed denver. There is really nobody except Oakland and the Jags that I would feel confident about playing. That being said I wouldnt be surprised at all if they beat us either. Times like this my mind always takes me back to 14-0 against Seattle at home! What has happened since that point could not be further from what I thought was going to happen from that point on. If we werent on our way to the Superbowl that year I figured we would be serious contenders for years to come. |

Re: Expectations for the rest of the season...
This game was horrible, easily the worst of the year, but it was just one game. Gruden so far has had two really bad losses out of 10 games(the game against New York in which we were destroyed by injuries and this one), so why would I expect this level of play to be the new norm? I fully expect Griffin to play more like he did against Minnesota than against Tampa Bay for the rest of the year.

Re: Expectations for the rest of the season...
Here is my prediction.
RG3 gets pulled in SF game. After loss, Colt starts next 4 games and leads us to 4 straight wins finishing the year 8-8.

Re: Expectations for the rest of the season...
Just let the starters play......play close attention to areas of need like offensive line, safety, and quarterback......
