But the way I'm looking at it is, if Goodell cleared it, the Fritz Pollard Alliance cleared it and there was clearly no wrong doing... what's the big deal? |

It's not like Snyder did it and now is arguing that he complied. He called them up and cleared it. If they said no then I doubt it'd have been a deal at all. He'd wait until the 4th..do a token on Gray and then hire Shanahan. But he asked if he could fast forward that and they said yes. Everyone can get mad at the league but not the Skins. For pete's sake they asked if they could do it. |

Probably not. I would actually love to get Dungy here, though that has nothing to do with race...just football.

Isn't quoting yourself some kind of violation of message board etiquette?
![]() If it were Dungy rumored to be coming, I don't think there would be much of a big deal at all. Honestly, I don't know why it's a big deal now. Everyone knows that Z is gone so who cares that Snyder is already interviewing people. If you're getting divorced but the court date hasn't arrived, is it cheating to take someone out to dinner?

if you're getting divorced but the court date hasnt arrived, is it okay for your best friend to go out with your soon-to-be-ex wife? is it okay if your father was the one who secretly set up the date with your soon-to-be-ex wife and your best friend? is it okay for your best friend to tell you to your face he didnt take out your soon-to-be-ex wife even though everyone else says he did?

I think we all know Zorn is gone. He knows he gone. I think the owner was hoping at some point Zorn would quit and not have to pay him anymore and it didn't happen. The season was already gone so keep him or firing him would have not made a difference. I guess you all would have been more comfortable had DS fired Zorn and made Gray HC then conducted interviews or simply waited until the end of the season. I think DS just wanted to let Shanahan get a start on putting his team together behind the scene's so they can get all the players ready to jump on board when the season ends. |

Instead there would be a different commotion, such as the negative effect that in-season hiring has had on on-field play.

Letter: we hire a minority in this scenario
Spirit: we genuinely interview a minority in this scenario (or we couldn't hire him) It seems to me that the Rooney Rule is about advancing minorities, regardless of what time of year the advancement happens.

Re: Report: Shanahan to DC done deal
Gray may have ruined his chances to ever coach anywhere else in the league.
