Re: Sex Abuse Scandal Rocks Penn State
Paterno family decries leak of e-mails regarding Sandusky – USATODAY.com
If its found Paterno lied and everyone was in on a cover up, Penn State football shouldnt be funded for awhile. If the leaks are true and Paterno and the football department covered up, Penn State Football shouldnt take the field in college sports period. I hope the victims bankrupt the program if its found to be a cover up.

Read the findings and the timeline, its disturbing to say the least. The 4 main players including Paterno fully enganged in a well planned cover up. Paterno lied, and this was all about protecting the football program as well as the university.

Re: Sex Abuse Scandal Rocks Penn State
I can't believe the school has not ripped down his statue. They should allow anyone who he harmed to come help and rip it down like the Saddam statue. They could drag it through the street and beat it with shoes.

I started reading this and my blood is beginning to boil. Not sure I'll be able to stomach reading this all without getting in my car and going to execute a few individuals and digging up JoePa's body just so I can desecrate it. My last stop would be at Penn State bringing down Joe Pa's statue. I don't think this "finding" really tells me anything I didn't know already. I already firmly believed they knew about the 1998 investigation. I knew that it was JoePa that was ultimately responsible for the inaction of the administrators, and he had the final word to keep it quiet. I knew JoePa was the ultimate power authority at that school. I knew JoePa lied and covered it up (as I'm sure he's done with many crimes there) to protect his legacy and football program. The sad thing is, it wasn't only just these 4 individuals that knew either. Paterno's whole family knew, as did most of those other 3 individuals families. Also, most of the coaches and staff knew as well. People talk. They always do. I work at a university, and I work on the medical campus which is across the way from our main campus. All that said, I STILL heard about our former basketball coach having a affair with another woman even though the press or general public never knew. The Paterno family are pieces of shit. They waited to release that Paterno letter the day before the findings knowing that the report would sink their beloved legend. Too bad. I only wished JoePa stayed alive long enough to watch his legacy be burnt down to the ground before his very eyes. It truly is the punishment he so richly deserved (among jail time). You wished you could have done more JoePA? Yeah, go **** yourself you child molester enabler. I hope and pray the victims and their families can move on knowing the truth backed up their stories of betrayal by the university. Maybe after these administrators are jailed and civil suits are done, healing can begin.

Re: Sex Abuse Scandal Rocks Penn State
The big Joe Pa lie from what I understand is he stated he didnt know about the 98 incident, which now the report stated he was fully aware.
I dont think "death penalty" would be appropriate for the program, but a very severe penalty should be implicated based on the cover up and the lack of instituational control. The lawsuits are going to be massive. Feel sorry for the students and alum. I have no sympathy for BOT, Pres, Joe Pa and his damn family, AD or the football team as a whole.

Re: Sex Abuse Scandal Rocks Penn State
Just listened to the entire thing on the radio, live.
I knew Paterno was involved since the first time I heard about it but wow... Paterno actually said to Sandusky: "You did what you needed to do, now I need to figure out how to hide it." Also, he wrote something before his death asking people not to make this an issue witht he football program. I was angry when I heard that but it confirms what I knew all along, Paterno was concerned with his football legacy above all else. When you have nutjobs with shrines in their homes and offices (I work with several ladies who have literal shrines covering full walls in their offices and cubicles with Paterno worship), I guess it can turn even the best people into egomaniacs. He is God to many people in this Commonwealth and it's always been sickening to me...but even worse, they STILL support him and haven't taken a thing down. I hope PSU's football program gets the death penalty. Not a temporary one like SMU...forever. This will make the University concentrate on academics, which needs attention since it's one of the top "party schools" in the nation with plenty of crime on the campus. It would make these lemmings' heads spin. I'd love to see it. Everyone who treated Paterno and the football program like they were gods helped build up this mentality and ego by every one of those who covered up Sandusky's sick acts. They were more concerned about their image and football resumes than the kids, the law and just doing what's right.

Spanier must believe we are all idiots. State College, PA - Spanier Tells Freeh Investigators He was Not Aware of Any Child Sexual Abuse by Sandusky No guys, I didn't know anything about this even though you have direct evidence via my emails that I sent to others. Another good write up on Freeh's report. Has it broken down. Freeh report on Penn State and Sandusky: complete coverage | PennLive.com Many props to the patriot news for their coverage through out this process. I do believe the woman that started this whole thing out won a Pulitzer for her journalism. Sara Ganim, 24, wins Pulitzer for coverage of Penn State sex abuse scandal | Poynter.

You don't think an entire football staff and probably players over a decade covering up rapes of kids, plus supporting a fake charity to lure in victims is worse? The whole University from the President and Athletic Director down to janitors who stated they knew about the cover-up are guilty here.
