New GM, New HC, New Coaching staff... screams of we don't want anything from the past era clouding the new era. But if you really want to know.... we can wait and see instead of jumping to conclusions. If Irsay didn't want to keep PM he would not be wanting to meet with him. He would just cut him like the Raider did Routt. So there still is a chance PM stays probably depending on how their meeting goes. In other words would PM take a back seat to Luck and I expect the answer would be no and PM released. |

I think it's amazing how we as a fan base are so far apart and possibly to the extreme when it comes to where this team really is. Some say we are no where near getting to the play offs. Pessimist. Others say we are not that far off. Optimist. I can tell you somewhere in between the truth lies. I'm not saying we are close because we beat the Giants twice (although it sounds nice), I'm not saying it because we have MS. I'm saying it based off of the teams play on the field. No different then others here love to say "we were a 5-11 team and we are a few yrs off". All I'm saying is I think we are closer then you think. |

Re: Peyton Manning or RGIII your choice
I be ok with PM and a rookie QB if they both suck we go after the next great QB in the draft.
I stil lsay give Indy whatever they hell they want for Luck and be done with it.

Re: Peyton Manning or RGIII your choice
Problem is there won't be any price. PM is as good as gone. The owner wants to start a new era. The GM on down was replaced. Their bringing in Luck to start their new era.

Re: Peyton Manning or RGIII your choice
I think trading for Luck will set us back a bit too but as he grows over the years we start plugging pieces around him. It is the one position in the NFL that makes or breaks a team.
come on just do it!

Re: Peyton Manning or RGIII your choice
For some reason, people think that we are going to acquire Manning by giving up all of our draft picks and not adding anything during the offseason. Well I am sure people don't necessarily think that, but are definitely acting like it. The funny thing is that acquiring Manning would allow us to use our draft picks to get some solid players, including a project QB. Also, with Manning on board, wouldn't the likes of VJax, Bowe, or Colston want to come to the Skins and play with Manning?
If Manning comes here, he won't be coming alone. We could very well add a WR from the deep class of FAs this offseason. We could get a stud interior lineman (I keep hearing DeCastro is the best) in the middle/late first round, and add a whole bunch of quality players in the later rounds. And we could also add our QB of the future. We could hopefully replicate what Kurt Warner did for Arizona when he went to play for them (and Warner was thought of being done after having a poor showing with the Giants). I am fine with trading up for RG3, but I know the team would need to spend a lot in free agency, since I am sure we would need to use a lot picks in a trade. I think in this situation, we would need to be ready for another year of growing pains. Right now as it stands, we are not a contender or a playoff team. However, if we land Manning, one of the top FA WRs, and a quality first/second/third rounder rookies (including our QB of the future), we could very well be a playoff team next season and still have a lot of youth that will carry this team for years to come.

@BillLekas @Redskins Absolutely in play for Manning. Still convinced it will be a disaster, but I guess there is a small chance proven wrong

Re: Peyton Manning or RGIII your choice
A lot of you guys are in love with the 30 year old Manning. The guy is not that anymore, he will come here stink and again egg will be on our face.
You know how you look at Oakland, Arizona, Cleveland, etc... and say god those are awful franchise, hello McFly that is how the rest of the football world views the Redskins.

So glad your on the same page. Just like going out and trading away several picks to get RGIII and ending up with a Vince Young. Just because he has the talent doesn't mean it will work out in the NFL. |
