Trent Williams holding out for new deal

I know what it feels like to have a cancer scare, a lot of people have been through that, but blaming other people is kind of an immature response, honestly. Dude needs to take responsibility for his own lack of concern. Instead, (if DHall's report was accurate) he is asking for potentially several people to lose their jobs, for not realizing it was more serious and urging him to have it taken care of (K. Sheehan).

I have a weird skin thing. Have had it for a couple years. My mom is an NP. I showed her and she said it's nothing, just a skin tag, but should probably get it checked out. Of course I had a dermatologist look at it. Now that's my mom, and not my employer's medical staff. She gave me life, she wants me healthy more than anyone. If I waited 2 years because she said it's probably nothing, and it turned out to be something, that's on me.

I feel y'all that this sucks. It's so fucking typical of the Redskins, but I can't pin it on the organization.

Now, maybe you could say that if Bruce were a better GM he might be able to fix this without overpaying for Trent to come back. Yeah, maybe... but for certain the reputation of the organization under his leadership makes it more difficult to smooth things over in this type of situation.

I feel for what Trent is going through, but honestly, if he's actually asking for others to lose their jobs and potentially hurt their careers irreparably because of his feelings, let al ok ne placing that guilt trip at their feet, than he's kinda being a dick... and I hate that'd this is happening, but at what point is his perspective on this going to be a problem in the locker room? Dude needs to go.

To finish my rant, I'm pissed to see how many people are so fucking willing to say fire these trainers and medical professionals they know nothing about because they want to keep their favorite player. That's super fucking ridiculous. If they're fired for performance, by all means, but not because the star player is blaming then for his cancer scare. They make not even a fraction of what that man does. He can go fucking console himself in his mansion for God's sake.

Bruce needs to be fired. Regardless of who’s fault this situation is, it’s been a nonstop cycle of drama, negativity, and turmoil under Bruce Allen’s watch. We’ve seen a massive exodus of staff, empty stadiums, one bad PR stunt after the other, and a losing record almost every year.

Bruce Allen is ultimately responsible for the performance of the organization aside from Snyder. Bruce Allen is the “neck to choke”.

Bruce Allen needs to go. Everyone, and I mean EVERYONE has had enough.

Good points.

Plus, that so called D Hall "report" that TW wants the training staff fired is wayyy overblown IMO, if you listen to the actual video , it seems more like some words thrown in there to illustrate his point than an actual statement, the next question is "Does he just not want to be here?" D Hall answers "I don't think that's the case at all".

According to another article, Trent isn’t even ready, medically or in NFL shape to practice yet.

That's not necessary, there is no way Williams is out of shape.

Right out of the BA play book.

And folks wonder why is viewed as a complete jackass and most untrustworthy GM across the league? Seriously, why is he running this Org?

Re: Trent Williams holding out for new deal

106.7 The Fan reports that holdout Redskins LT Trent Williams is "telling friends he's prepared to sit out the season."

Reporter Craig Hoffman also confirms that Williams requested a trade in June. Per Hoffman, the Redskins are "confused" by Williams' demands. He has reportedly "not demanded specific changes on the medical staff" and has been "silent in attempts to negotiate a new contract." It seems what Williams wants most of all is to get out of Washington. There has been zero indication the Redskins are considering accommodating him

Craig Hoffman, legit source imo

If Trent doesn't want to play there is no way the redskins can make him. It's really a shame that it's come to this, especially because it sounds like there was confusion between Williams and the redskins. I didn't think he was going to miss any games but at this point it seems inevitable that he does. In that case if the redskins can get a trade they ought to do it.

I don't think so either...but that damn Can of Worms was opened up by Le'von Bell last year. And we have other hold out players (Gordon) threaten the same action.

The big problem, if that truly is Trent's strategy, he has 2 more years left on his deal. He aint sitting 2.

Re: Trent Williams holding out for new deal

So Trent is upset the team docs told him the cyst was no big deal, but according to reports the team also told him to get it checked out just in case. At some point Trent has to own his part of the situation. Why didn't he get a 2nd opinion sooner?

I still think this can be resolved with $$ and he's using this medical scare as leverage. I'm on the side that Sheehan has been talking about. I wouldn't give him a ton of new $$ with an extension. But I'm ok with guaranteeing more of his 2020 money. If that's not going to get the job done I'm fine with dealing him.

When it comes down too it, you are responsible...I agree.

Yup, Sheehan was hitting the nail on the head....do we really want a 45-60 million dollar extension for Trent at his age and health? No. But Kicking him more guarantee money would absolutely be fine. My problem is....SHOULDNT BRUCE AND DAN be at Trent house getting this shit done? I mean, do something, the later it goes...

Re: Trent Williams holding out for new deal

Bruce would just make the situation worse. Nobody likes the guy except Dan. Bruce would probably do something similar to what he did w/ Cousins and make the situation worse.

If I were the Redskins it'd be real simple. Either you play or sit home. If we get fair market value, like a 1st rounder then we'll trade you. Those are your only options.
