not even the Browns are stupid enough to give the Redskins the 10th pick of the draft for a old, often injured, disgruntled tackle who wants to be paid QB money.

seriously trent should just retire at this point.

Let him retire after we get draft picks for him.

If he is traded before the season starts I will venture a guess it will be for a 3rd or 4th rounder. On the other hand considering their draft history possibly they don't value their first round pick. 20 years of first round picks have yielded the Browns mostly duds.

It's a good sign that there appears to be multiple teams in play.

I heard it on the radio this morning. It was said to be at least Jacksonville and a team with a top 10 1st round pick. I think Ian Rapaport has also said "teams" are intrested.

I mean it's a good sign, but just because teams are interested doesn't mean they are going to be willing to pay him what he wants and give the redskins what they want.

Not trying be be a Debbie Downer here. But the actual likelihood of another team trading for Trent Williams seems slim. Consider all of the top name LTs that we know are already on the market. Bryan Bulaga, Jason Peters, to name a couple.

Additionally, just take a look at the draft this year. There are as many as 8 OTs that could be drafted in the first round. Other that WR, sounds like OT is very deep this year.

No one is going to trade away draft picks for TW when they can sign a top quality veteran, or draft a week 1 starter in the 2020 draft.

TW not going anywhere.

LOL

Yeah HOF caliber LT. Can't imagine why anybody would do that when they could get geriatric Jason Peters to play for them.

Hey Trap.

Peters is 38 and oft injured, Bulaga is a RT. I think a team will offer a trade for 31 year old LT (32 come September). The biggest down driver of the value though to me, is still the fact a new team will most likely have to also show him the money.

A team with a win now window and no LT will make an offer. Question is whether its better than a 3rd.

Worst case scenario, he stays doesnt report, we place him on the reserve/non football injury list and collect a 3rd round comp for 2021 (assuming we dont sign a tier 1 FA to offset it)

Upgrading the offensive line is a priority for the Jets this offseason, so it’s no shock to hear their name come up in conjunction with left tackle Trent Williams. Williams has been given permission...

I don't think you're being objective in this instance. Year after year teams overpay for top LT's, in salary and draft picks both. I wouldn't be surprised if we can trade him for a second round pick.

p.s. Jason Peters, who was a great player, has lost more than a step and he's been hurt a lot. Brian Bulaga is a RT only. He's also been hurt a lot.

The guy is 32 and can still play at a high level at one of the most important positions on the field. I think some are seriously underestimating his value.

The Panthers just gave away a 26 year old Guard, for Russell Okung, who is the same age as Trent. And while Okung has been a good tackle, he's nowhere near the level of play that Trent has produced.

If there was a market for Okung, there is DEFINITELY a market for Trent, as long as his agent is being reasonable in regards to the contract that he has.

Right, the key will be Trent agreeing to an extension and coming back down to earth with his demands. Once that falls in place it’s not hard to imagine a team coming up a worthwhile trade offer.
