Define "a lot of money". You'd figure in that 49 million is "a lot of money". Apparantly that wasn't good enough for him. That's an average of 7 million a year. if 7 million a year isn't a lot of money, he must be on crack. I doubt he's learned anything new right now too. He's probably singing his little rap song on the way to the bank. What's the over/under that once T.O. becomes displeased with Bledsoe, he starts cracking jokes about playing with a brokeback cowboy?

that 49mill contract was backloaded, and he got 3mill the second year. this year he'll make 10mill and then 8 and 7 mill if he stays on the team. Its definately a lot more money than his last contract (which every analyst thought was a bad deal for him).

exactly and the way the contract was structure was to protect the cowboys they only gave him a 5mill signing bonus he has 2 3 mill roster bonus 1 for 2007 and 1 for 2008 that means if TO starts pulling a TO he'll get cut and it will only cost the cowboys 3.34 in 2007 1.67 in 2008 wich is verry cap frendly.

I think is a good contract because it pays him the money he was asking to be happy wich is higher than Moss and Harrison an protects the cowboys for any stupidity he might want 2 pull.

Also we all know that if he screws it here he wont get a 4th chance, s owe just have 2 waith and see.

Yeah?

Well I was surprised to see a team stupid enough to give him a THIRD chance. Especially with that much money.

i agree. at least the eagles had a pretty good supporting cast. the cowboys really dont. they have no running game to speak of and not much at WR. with TO being the only talent and the only one that teams need to plan for, hes going to bitch about not getting the ball, blah blah blah.

Re: Cowboys Officially Sign Terrell Owens

yeah they gave him exactly what he wanted. they made him the highest paid receiver in the league. lets see him outperform THAT contract.

Re: Cowboys Officially Sign Terrell Owens

i see problems if, due to inflation next year, that some receiver somewhere gets a higher contract than him and he "outplayed" his this year.

I posted this last night on the T.O. Web Site thread:

Interesting thing is that I heard the T.O. signing was 100% Jerry Jones' idea. Parcells really wanted nothing to do with him. That dynamic will create some real tension if T.O. starts to "act up" again and Bill's hands are tied.

I really don't think Bill was on board with this signing and this might be a sign that he's still trying to swallow it. Then again, he could just be out of town on vacation.

Parcells is the king of tough love. By not showing up, he's making a nonverbal statement of "I don't want you, you need to really impress me!"

I don't know that he has never shown up at a FA signing but you are correct about Bledsoe and KJ. I saw someone asked this question on ESPN and they made the same point. If I'm correct I thought heard onESPN if Dallas cuts Owens after 06 or 07 the way his contract is set up there is no cap hit or maybe they just ment no hard cap hit. Now

I allready posted this before if he gets cut in 2007 he will count 3.34 mill to the cap that's nothing (really compered to the 12 that LaVar was going to count before he gave 4 away) and in 2008 if cut he would count 1.67 against the cap its really a cap frendly contract.

Re: Cowboys Officially Sign Terrell Owens

I did not realize Parcells did not attend the intro's Dboyz. It's still wierd as hell, but Parcells is his own kind of "tough love" guy, for sure. I as a Cowboy fan would be a pisseed off SOB with TO on my team. But.................I would still defend them to ouside interlopers as well (as has already been discussed). 2006 will be an interesting season in the EAST!!!!!!!!!!
