Seriously though, I agree with you that I did see him open all the time. I don't question his skills, I just question his emotional and physical strength.

Re: Today I met...

Exactly, I remember last year an article in which David Patten was commenting on Taylor's abilities. Something to the effect of "You're NOT a starter? Why not?". I think it has something to do with his ego. He's probably a lot like the second tier athlete that has the physical skills and really stands out against weaker competition. Now that he's on a level playing ground it's like he has some mental block. He's spent most of his life being told how awesome he is now that he has to step it up a notch to prove it he breaks down.

Re: Today I met...

Speaking of Patten, for some reason I really see him being our Monk or Ellard this year. If we run any 4 WR sets, I can see him being the go-to guy.

Re: Today I met...

I think Patten is a great insurance policy. But since I don't think we'll see too many 4 wideout sets, Patten is going to have to really prove that he's clearly better than either Randle El or Brandon Lloyd.

Re: Today I met...

I still don'telieve Randle El will be used as a WR consistently. Special teams and special plays (HB option pass?) mainly. Lloyd is the number 2 with Randle El and Patten splitting the number 3 spot.

If so, he'd be the highest paid special teams/gimmick player in NFL history by about $30 mill.

Re: Today I met...

I see Randle El and Lloyd battling it out for the #2 in camp. Regardless of who is labeled the #2, both are likely to see plenty of action in Saunder's 3 WR sets.

Re: Today I met...

With all these wideouts, anybody else think there could be friction at some point between receivers all wanting the ball and a head coach who loves to run it? I haven't really heard if Saunders is a run first or throw first kind of guy.

True, very true but he'd also be one of the highest paid #2/#3 wideouts.

I guess you didn't hear about the money tree that LDS has growing at Fedex Field!

He has his Cash Cow stashed in a pasture at Redskins Park!

HA! For a second I thought you misspelled LSD.

I guess all this LSD is making me see LSD trees.

Re: Today I met...

I'd like to see how other #2 WRs are paid in this league before I write off Randle El as being overpaid.

Who knows the diabolical machinations of Gibbs/Saunders? I'm sure a role has been defined for Randle El, Lloyd and Patten. Wait, this thread is about Taylor Jacobs....a role has been defined for him, too! I guess.

I'm going with waterboy for Jacobs.
