Hmmm. Kiper is really talking down about Thomas Howard. I'm feeling somewhat better already.

Re: Skins officially pick Rocky McIntosh
lets just give away all of our other picks for Devin Hester and go home. Hell give em all the picks from next year for that gay kid from who's the boss too while we're at it.
Im not sayin the McIntosh pick was bad, but I think we did not have to give up so much to get a quality player where we were. Daryl Tapp also comes to mind... wonder where he'll go...

If we can get some OL help and a Punter, we will be ok.

Re: Skins officially pick Rocky McIntosh
Wow I hope he was worth three picks! Now what the trade was was giving each other 2nd rounders this year. What the Jets got was our 07 2nd rounder and this years 6th rounder[189]. Not a real big cost but I just hate to give up that second rounder in 07!!! If he turns out to be a starter and the LB that Arrington was not we hit pay dirt. But if he is a so so player not good at all!!!

Re: Skins officially pick Rocky McIntosh
I think they had a list of linebackers and saw all of 'em get crossed off one by one. ...I think they realized they weren't gonna get any of the linebackers on their list or any of the CB's on their list. So they traded up--you can only get what the market gives you.
I'd rather trade up than waste a second round pick on somebody that wasn't on my list. |

I wonder what it would take to trade back into the 2nd round? Eric Winston from Miami and we could call it a draft.

Re: Skins officially pick Rocky McIntosh
Lot of hate for this deal. I don't mind it. First, everyone needs to stop saying we gave up 3 picks to get him. We didn't. We gave up 2 picks.
We gave up #53, but got #35. So those picks are negated. We gave up next year's second (which has the same value as a third rounder this year) and a 6th rounder. I'm not bothered by that at all. 6th rounders are worth jack squat first off. Secondly, we're positioned to make a run this year. It's better to make sure we get the guy we loved now rather than next year. Everything I've heard on McIntosh says that he's rock solid, and he fills the final hole in our roster. Gibbs and company have done well with first-day draft picks. Sean Taylor, Chris Cooley, Carlos Rogers, all good picks. Jury's out on Campbell still. He's going to fill the only need we have (except maybe punter). And I think Gregg Williams knows how to pick his LBs. I'm not jumping up and down thinking we got a steal. But I'm not bothered by it by any means. After all, he might be the final piece of the puzzle on D.
