Re: 9-11-2006

On 9-11 I was in seventh grade, my teacher came and and told everyone that a plane had hit the WTC, and everyone was completely shocked. We all took like five minutes of silence and prayer, then like an hour or so later the class was watching on t.v. when the second one hit. School got canceled after we heard the Pentagon was hit as well, which was only like 10 miles from the school i used to go to. I felt so bad for everyone involved. RIP to anyone who lost their lives fighting the war, or trying to help out at Ground Zero.

On Sept. 11 though i'll be at the game waving my flag proudly.

Re: 9-11-2006

I was a sophomore at Gonzaga and in my World History class when we first heard about the attacks. Being as close to the capitol building as Gonzaga is i was scared something else was going to happen right there in DC. What a day that was...hard to believe 5 years has gone by...

Re: 9-11-2006

I will never forget that day as it was my 21st b-day and I have a handfull of relatives in the military, one of which was serving in the Pentagon fairly close to where the plane struck the complex. I just remember having this feeling of absolute helplessness and despair as I watched what was unfolding on the tv. My heart goes out to everyone even remotely related to what occured on that dark day.

Re: 9-11-2006

I had just been in the Navy about a year. My ship, the USS Monterey was steaming off the coast of Virginia when it happened. I was in line for breakfast when the captain got on the announcing system and said that America Had been attacked and that it was time for us to do our duty. We set up a defensive perimeter along with other ships along the east coast. I was within cell phone distance so I was able to call my family but coulden't tell them where I was or when I was coming home... mostly because I did'nt know. Not long after that we deployed to the middle east and did lots of search and seizures confisicating lots of illegal oil and other stuff. I get a little choked up thinking about it. I will never forget the people who lost their lives in those attacks and I will never forget those who lost their lives trying to save others. And I will never forget my brothers and sisters in arms who sacrifice everyday to make sure that it never happens again.

9-11 a day that changed us all forever. The flags sound like a great idea. I'd like to thank all of members of the armed services without you all i wouldnt be able to enjoy the freedoms those cowards tried to take from us. The fear they tried to instill in us. We will never forgot. RIP to all those who passed away that day.

Re: 9-11-2006

I remember 98 Rock being on while I was driving to work, and KML were talking about a plane hitting the WTC. I'm thinking to myself, this is a really bad joke...so I get to work, and have to promptly set up a tv in the CEO's office because of the news. I was pretty numb for the rest of the day, didn't get much work done, as I was trying in vain to stream what I could from the major news networks. I think we left at 3pm, considering no one was really getting any work done.

The best thing we can do to support our troops and to remember those who gave their lives is to keep on living the life. Don't let those ignorant bastards win by showing fear...push forward with pride.

Re: 9-11-2006

its really unbelievable that it was only 5 years ago and at this very time 5 years ago our world was much different. Regardless what we think about the current war we must all be thankful to those who fight for us and allow us to enjoy our skins game on monday night. It makes me feel almost guilty that I can just watch the game tonight but that is what is great about america. I wish i could go to the vikings game but when we all watch it where we are we should all think about how lucky we are to live in such a great country.
