Re: Around the NFL 9/17/06
Not sure if he's smaller, but he's definitely not the same LaVar....not even the LaVar we saw in action against San Francisco last year. He covered quite a bit of ground on the play when he sacked and injured Alex Smith. That same level of explosiveness just isn't there.

Re: Around the NFL 9/17/06
cant believe the panthers were a superbowl favorite by many prognasticators. although the coach screwed them with a bs special teams play thats what really cost them. and by the way thanks to the g-men for giving us a chance to have a share of the divison lead with a victory over the boys. the pass to plaxico was amazing by eli today.

49ers beat Rams 20-13, with impressive performances from the Oline, Alex Smith, Frank Gore and Antonio Bryant. Our staters at LT and LG were both inactive and still we have allowed zero sacks this season. That's cool...

Coles had a great game for New York, definitely looks like he's gonna have a good season up there. I wish him the best.

Re: Around the NFL 9/17/06
baltimore defense is nice this year. 6 sacks, 5 FF, 3 ints, gave up 3 points and kept the O in great field position.
oakland REALLY sucks. |

Re: Around the NFL 9/17/06
I think it's kind of interesting what the marketing people down in Jacksonville for the game tonight. It looks like they handed out or sold big, white foam sticks for the fans to wave around their heads. I guess they realized that there would be a ton of Steelers fans at the game with their stupid towels, so they might as well try to cover them up.
I don't think that will help them win as much as their nasty defense might, but it's still an interesting idea.

Re: Around the NFL 9/17/06
They're doing that thing where they have one guy introduce his offense of the defense. He was wearing a suit, which seemed wierd, but then it all made sense. He basically talked up the d-line and then screamed "yyyyyyyaaaaaahhhh," and threw his fist like Howard Dean (or Dave Chappelle's impression). Then he did the same for the LBs, and then for the DBs. Then he screamed something like "We're gonna go out running, yyyyaaaahhhh, and we're gonna hit 'em, yyyyyaaaahhhhh, and we're gonna win!!!! Yyyyyaaaaahhhh."
Okay, so you probably had to see it for yourself, but still.
