Re: Are the recievers getting open

Here is a guy to ponder - Sydney Rice - 6'4" 215 lbs - who was an all freshman reciever out of South Carolina last year and had good stats this year as well, pretty darn fast and he has great hands and he did it against SEC competition. Opposing teams were double teaming him because the Gamecocks did not have another good option at WR. If he decides to come out he is projected as a late first round pick, so with all the glaring needs on defense this is most likley a pipe dream for the Skins to take. I will say he is way better than fellow Gamecock reciever Troy Williamson who went to the Vikings early and was supposed to replace Moss.

Ok, the size of a receiver is important, but that doesnt make a receiver. Once again, look at the Colts. If size is so dire, then why didnt the Skins go after Jevon Walker?

You are right the size does not make a receiver but the recipe for a good football team should consist of a inside/outside receiving tandem and an addition of a good big receiver would improve our receiving corp by leaps and bounds.

You are also right by saying that you can get by with smalish receivers like the Colts have now and the Rams had a few years back especially if you have a Peyton Manning or a Kurt Warner (well a Kurt Warner of a few years ago) but since we are not blessed with rare quaterbacks such as these I would suggest that we gete some better targets for the quaterbacks that we do have

"Why didn't we go after Jevon Waker?" I often ask myself why our front office does the things that they do and can't come up with a reasonable answer.

ok, i agree with you, it just seems really idiotic now that we got 3 guys who are all similar, unless Lloyd starts to make some of those acrobatic catches he can apparently make
