Never let the facts get in the way of a good story...

Re: Steve Czaban Article
Yep, and the fact of the matter is -- since Dan Snyder took over, his team has a losing record.

Re: Steve Czaban Article
Guess it all depends on what his definition of a high priced FA is. For the sake of making his argument I guess Washington doesn't count, but it's a bit of a picky omission if you ask me. But I'm not arguing with the overall message of the article, I'm just debating his opinion of high priced.

Re: Steve Czaban Article
I always say this when Snyders involvement in the team comes up. To blame Snyder for the troubles of the team is a bit ridiculous. He asks the coach (who ever that may be) who would make our team better. who would you like to have on the field. Joe, Al, GW, all give him an answer. Unfortunately, the coaches get the choice of who ever is out there. Dan simply writes the checks, or negotiates the contract(hardly ever really) Joe, Al, and GW are to blame or commend for the signings in the last 3 years. Steve Spurrier even got the pick of the best FA or restricted FA on the market when he came in. This blasting Snyder is stupid. Name another owner that takes everything he makes and puts back into OUR Redskins?! whether its at Fed-X to put as many fans in the stadium to support out team, or at Redskins park, or marketing OUR team.
Snyder loves the Redskins as much as anyone who is a die hard fan, and to question his motives is stupid. Yes he is a business man and wants to make money off OUR team, who wouldn't. And he is very (the best) successful it. but, he cares tremendously about OUR team, he wants US to win, why do you think he gives the coaches (who ironically coach the team and should know good talent) the ability to choose the players. Now, not that I am in agreement of that, I would prefer a GM, but until JOE GIBBS decides they need one, they will not have one. MR GIBBS should not be getting a free ride here, nor our mastermind Defensive coach. THey have chosen the free agents in the past 3 years that should make the team better and gotten rid of CORE REDSKINS for suposedly better higher priced players. GW had to have AA, would not let him leave without a contract. Joe and AL had to have Duckett, had to have Randel El, brandon Lloyd (personally, I think Santana, Patten and Trash would have done no worse, plus the guys we cut from training camp who looked to be a pretty damn good WR, but forgot his name) OUR Coach is not here to build for the future, nor has anyone with any football acuman been able to convince Snyder to do so. Is that bad? Well, Snyder wants to win every year, and yes that comes at a price. As fans, I would rather win consistantly than win every 5 years. Now that hasn't happend in 15 years, but again, Dan is not the sole bearer of repsonsiblity for that. All these media people want to blame him, jump or come up with there own conclusions. they blast him for not commenting to the media. Why would he?? when he did, you (the media) blasted him saying he was too involved for an owner. Now he takes the back seat and gets blasted for not saying a word. Its not like the situations are different either, so dont try that. They were losing then too!! When does Joe and the "greatest coaching staff ever assembled" get blamed for any of the 2 season of losing! As of right now, the way this organization is run is probably not the best or most idealistic, but like I said earlier, BIG JOE will have to decide on the GM move. Dan will not hire one unless JOE wants one. I am just wondering am I the only Redskin fan that feels this way?? Last i checked, Dan has nothing to do with game planning, coaching our offense of defense. Which, if I remember correctly are directly involved with winning and losing games. And, If i also remember those two areas were the two items blasted the most during the season. "offense isn't clicking..blah blah blah, our D stinks...blah blah blah." Now its Dans fault?! not sure how that comes about, but you are entitled to you opinions. The way I look at it, it took Joe, 10 weeks to figure out Brunell sucks, (well, 3 years to be exact) Just think about this, how bad would we have been had our D not been 3rd and 9th the previous two years?? GW was the one that said Walt Harris, antonio pierce, smoot, LaVar, Ryan Clark, Bowen were all replaceable. however, Smoot, Pierce, Clark, LaVar were all this thing called CORE REDSKINS. I am sick of hearing that. They are no more core redskins that I am a coach. If they were, they would all be here. Lets take a second to remember who is getting blasted the most, once players leave. THE COACHING STAFF. Players say coaches are the ones to blame. no one is blaming dan when they leave. these are the people around the team more than anyone. In closing, I would like to know who truely blame this teams struggles on Dan? I am emailing this to Zaban. hopefully he will respond! Last edited by SmootSmack; 01-07-2007 at 01:14 PM. Re: Steve Czaban Article
the redskins are done. Gibbs is done. When you lose you die a little, when you win you are reborn. Sorry to say i feel dead. Gibbs said this is his worst year, and i feel the same. I wish i got 5 million for my worst year.

welcome to the board btw.. Anyone will tell you I'm usually a little overly optimistic about my skins, but I've never been this excited about an upcoming year. Finally Jason Campbell get's to have an offseason knowing this is "his team"... The kid is good, and is going to win games. The defense will be an interesting thing to watch.
