Re: 1991 Redskins on NFL Network Friday
well for that 1 year there was nobody better at throwing the deep ball, rypien had the magic touch that yr,its easy to call those plays when you have a qb making those throws almost every time and a defense that would stop the other team if you didnt

True. People forget that Rypien was the QB when Monk, Clark and Saunders all got over 1,000 yards. I think it was in 89 when we went 10-6 but didn't make the playoffs.

In the NFL Network video, they say that the Eagles "bodybag" game refocused the Redskins on being tougher and more physical. |

Re: 1991 Redskins on NFL Network Friday
did'nt mark mosely win the league mvp during the 1982 redskins super bowl championship team?in my opinion gibb's greatest win as the skins coach 1st time around, was when he took the 87 skins strike team to dallas, and beat the cowboys strike team that randy white, danny white, tony dorsett, and a few other regulars that crossed the strike lines to play.that was the last game me and my daddy saw together before he went to that giant redskins stadium
in the sky!

yes, that dallas strike game was great,Dierdorf says at the start of game how nobody is giving these skins a chance, but anbody who underestimates a joe gibbs coached team is sadly mistaken, how true those words turned out to be!{wish it was true now!} I have that game on dvd, watched it not that long ago,one of our strike players still holds the redskin single game recieving record,Anthony Allen,I have that game too

Another thing I heard that I miss hearing was Frank Herzog and his call whenever the Redskins scored a touchdown....I know toward the end he would miss player names and wasn't perfect but just something about growing up and hearing "Sonny, Sam, and Frank". Now it's Sonny, Sam, and...Larry?

That was really good. It's hard to think that was 16 years ago. That's what a JG's offense is supposed to look like. Some of the stories about Jack Kent Cooke were great. He affected so many peoples lives. He also had a great motivation to win. His motivation spurred on Gibbs, Rypien, and the team (not that they needed any more motivation).

Re: 1991 Redskins on NFL Network Friday
i was at the regular season game between the skins and falcons where rypien put on a clinic to the falcons defense.mc hammer and evander holyfield were
both on the falcon sideline that day,the section i was end started alternating chants of hammer sucks and holyfields sucks.it was a very shitty day to see a game too, rain, sleet, freezing rain all fell that game.and it was one hell of a drive from dc to bassett that night too.only paid 10 bucks for my ticket though!and we got to see the falcons rookie qb that year number 4 brett favre throw an interception andre collins ran back 20 yards for a touchdown.other than seeing rypien's clinic that day,we got to see favre an sure fire HOFer play that day too!
