Re: Right Tackle
Wade is the obvious pick.
Heyer is good for depth but over the long haul you want the vet in there. |

Re: Right Tackle
I think saying that Wade sucks is way off base. I am not sure who will start. Wade has a torn laburnum. Wade did not suck in Miami or Texas. He just never played as well as they thought he would. He is only 30. Three years ago hear tore his knee up and he was paid big time, so they cut him in Texas, at 27 years old. Tackles are just reaching their prime at that age. He fought thought it and he is starter material. From what I am hearing he probably will need surgery after the season is over(just my own insight into the injury). That is the reason he is not the hands down starter. I also think Heyer has been great. I will trust what ever decision Gibbs makes.

Re: Right Tackle
I think the concern with Heyer would be the complex schemes run by Jim Johnson and the Eagles. Miami blitzed some, but not a lot. I think, on the road against all the blitzes, you have to lean towards Wade unless his injury is unmanageable. As I said before he has a reputation as a great pass protector when he is at Right Tackle.

Re: Right Tackle
I don't know Sheriff. We gave up no sacks after Heyer came in if I remember correctly.

If Wade can go he's gotta be in there. I'd be really surprised if Heyer starts. |

Re: Right Tackle
I want Wade too if he's healthy. I loved hearing last year that most defensive players had more trouble with Wade than Jansen.

In an interview Wade said he'd being playing with a harness on that shoulder for a while. When asked if he was 100%, he said something like, well I'm healthy enough. |

Re: Right Tackle
Well, I trust the coaching staff to know if Heyer needs to go in or not.

Re: Right Tackle
I voted Heyner, but after reading some posts, Wade should definetly start. I've seen time and time again where people come into the game and do well because the other team couldn't look at video tape of the player and take advantage of him. I feel that with a week to prepare for an unexperienced RT, the eagles will have a field day.

Agreed. May the best guy play. If Wade is banged up, then start Heyer. Either way protect Jason, and lets beat the Eagles.

As far as Wade vs. Heyer, I think that decision should be based on performance. Heyer looked good Sunday. If Wade struggles against the Eagles, I wouldn't be surprised if Gibbs pulls him. |

Re: Right Tackle
Heyer has proven himself to be a capable backup on both sides of the line. Wade has proven himself to be measurably better on the Right. Start Wade, enjoy the benefits of Heyer being able to use his versatility if either tackle needs spelling (or, God forbid, gets hurt).

Re: Right Tackle
I voted Wade, but if the coaches go w/Heyer, I'll be happy cause that would mean they really see him as a long-term starter, and we really need some youth & depth on the o line.

Re: Right Tackle
I definitely want Todd Wade starting. We all saw how he filled in for Jansen so brilliantly in the Saints, and Giants games last year.
