Re: Redskins v Patriots predictions

We;re gonna hear it no matter what. If we lose big; Gibbs didn't have us prepared enough. If we lose by a little; it was bad play calling.

If we win by a little; then we let them off the hook. If we, god forbid, win by a lot; then it was because the Pats laid down and overlooked us.

Re: Redskins v Patriots predictions

No reason we can't win 11 regardless of the outcome of this game.

I had the Jets game marked down as a loss at the beginning of the season. Well...the Jets' D sucks, and Kellen Clemens very well could get his second start against us. I think we will win that one now.

I had the Philly game marked down as a loss at the beginning of the year. They can't really throw the ball. I think we will win that one now.

I had the Giants game in week 15 marked down as a loss. Well, that team is peaking right now, and could be had in the meadowlands in December.

This was supposed to be the hardest part of our schedule right here and the next three games don't really look to be all that challenging. Now the hardest part of out schedule seems to be having Dallas and Tampa on the road back to back.

And if we can win ONE of those, we are on pace for 11.

Re: Redskins v Patriots predictions

Someone mentioned the Redskins defying reality. History is best qualified to give the answer to my prediction. The Redskins have upset team after team after team when they are clearly the underdogs. The Cowboys,Saints, Panthers and Jaguars last year. Eagles and Lions this year. This game against the Patriots will be culmination of what can happen when a solid defense and efficient offense meet a "can do no wrong" Superbowl favorite. This game makes for a photo finish that only Ali vs. Frazier can compare. Skins 31, Patriots 17 and I'm putting my money behind my team.

Re: Redskins v Patriots predictions

Something has to give. Either the Patriots offense lets down and can't score, or the Skins defense lets down and the flood gates open. We all know the Skins have the 3rd ranked Defense in the NFL, but the Pats are sitting pretty at 10. Their offense is the best in the NFL right now. However, the wild card in all of this is the Skins offense. We know they are capable of moving the ball very well (Lions game), but they are also capable of crapping the bed (Cards game).

If Saunders can get the offense to perform on all cylinders, they have a fighting chance. Unfortunately, I don't think it's going to click all at once this week.

Patriots 31
Redskins 12

Re: Redskins v Patriots predictions

Skins play most of the entire 1st half in a Jumbo package that will have Sellers at RB lorenzo Alexander at FB Pucillo as H-back and Heyer as the TE with Cooley split out and we will run it down their throat! Thats how we get the run game going!!! I was making that up as i went along but now it doesnt sound too bad (well maybe for short yardage)

But for real... were gonna air it out and see some of that wide-open AL Saunders offense to keep that Pats D off balance

Skins loose a squeeker on a last second feild goal 38-35 in a horribly officiated game (in that Pats favor of course) I predict 4 PI penalty w/ all leading to TDs and a bs. personal foul on ST that puts them in feild goal range at the end

You are my comrade in battle. I can't stand a so-called fan predicting what Parcells or someother bandwagon jackass has to say about the Patriots. It takes a real fan to stand with his team especially when they have shown signs of greatest on both sides of the ball. The Colts defense sucked last year and they lost several games but when it really clicked it clicked.

Re: Redskins v Patriots predictions

Nobody has an answer for the Pats. While the Skins are bordering on what I'd like to consider an almost lights out defense (Hey. I'm a homer for the defense) Their offense is hanging on it's last leg. So unfortunately the Skins aren't gonna be the ones to find that answer.

Pats 27
Skins 13

It's going to be a loss but not a blowout.

Pats 24
Skins: 13

p.s. If we win I'll be the happiest man alive.

No Ben Watson, No Laurence Maroney (I think). Redskins go up early and shock the Pats. We become the first team in intercetp Tom Brady more than once in this game and we are constantly in his face.

Redskins 27
Pats 19

The Redskins are now seen as the best team in the NFC

Re: Redskins v Patriots predictions

Redskins 28
Patriots 20

The redskins defensive front four have a big game and are the difference makers. The redskins D will force at least 2 turnovers, which is also key. The redskins D will play pass all day, which is something they are used to at this point.

Another unit that have been solid all year and will come to play is special teams.

The redskins keys to offense will depend on the ability to run the ball and getting first downs. The passing game needs to set up the run. Running the ball effectively and getting first downs will allow the redskins to set the pace and rhythm of the game.
