Not to jump the gun, but this feels like rebuilding the team from the ground up alllll over again.
Yup, that's exactly what it feels like.
If, and right now its a huge IFwe bring in fassel and he brings in Ryan as DC we're going to need a major overhaul of the defense and that may take a long time and a lot of money.

I'm not going to ever give up the on the team but I do think that fassel will need to show me a whole lot before I can get excited about him.

I am so sick of starting over every couple of years.

If you try to pin the last 15 years of mediocrity on any one thing, it would have to be the veritable carousel of player and coaches that rotate through this city every two or three years.

I miss pre-free agency when a team was a team. I feel like the only thing that's remotely constant is that we still wear the same uniforms, other than that it's a new team every damn year.

This move, if it even happens, won't even make sense to me until we're eight games into next season. I won't buy into the interviews by the players, the other coaches, or not the media. I want to see it on the field.

Let's remember this is a playoff team, gentlemen. Unless Fassel can take us to the next round or even the conference championship, I'll be very unforgiving of this move.

I'm pretty much right with you 12th. I can't understand it it's not like Fassle won much with the G-Men and now all the players all have to learn new systems. If we don’t keep Bugel after what he did with the O-line last year then Snyder is defiantly lost the plot and all Gibbs hard work will ne for not. Needles to say this move doesn’t get me real excited.

Somehow, this just does not seem to have the flavor of Joe Gibbs influence.

He has NFC East experience and has taken that experience to the SuperBowl.

How many years ago was that he went to the Super Bowl?

Here's a guy that got fired by his best friend, by the way.

Fassel is a tough hardnosed guy, not a good coordinator.

I'm just saying in two weeks we traded Gibbs for Fassel if this goes down.

OUCH!!!!!

It looks like the Skins contacted the Seahawks earlier this week to interview their QB coach Jim Zorn.

Redskins are interviewing Seattle Qb coach Jim Zorn for an offensive coordinator position, according to league sources. The Redskins asked premission to talk to him this week - again not the head coaching job

More recently than any of the other coaches on the list.

Of course, that was the perfect storm for the Giants, and if we had one more win, it likely could have been us in the Super Bowl that year.

If this is true, then I see this as Dan Snyder really not caring what his fans/players think...he really doesn't.

Re: Coaching Rumor on SportsTalk 980

I will NEVER jump off the Redskins bandwagon, but, if true, I don't like the move. So pretty much the entire coaching staff wants GW, the players wants GW, the owner preaches about the importance of continuity, and yet we hire a new guy who will likely fire many of the coaches and want to make significant changes to the roster? I can't quite follow that logic.

The only way this move will make sense is if Williams and Saunders remain on the staff as the defensive and offensive coordinators, respectively.

Even if they remain, you would just have to think the environment would be a bit stifling under those circumstances. Two of you interviewed for the same job, and the new guy get's it? Naw, that 'aint gonna fly.
