Why does no one ever say Jim Lachey (sp), was he not one of the best for a long time?

Injuries really hurt Lachey's career. When he was healthy though, to this day I think he was the best LT I ever saw. When he was on, nobody could beat him.

I think I remember hearing that LT only beat Jim Lachey once for a sack in all their meetings. Though admittedly, LT was on the decline when Lachey started to become dominant.

Longetivity might be the one thing standing in Lachey's way for entrance to the Hall.

Our next HOFer has to be a Hog - either Grimm or Jacoby. Frankly, I'm surprised that Grimm gets so much more attention than Jacoby since Grimm didn't have as long a period of excellence due to injuries. I'm pretty sure that of our Super Bowl wins, Grimm only started in the first, while Jacoby started in all three.

I think Russ has the momentum to go next. I think once he is in it will be a while before another Hog makes it in. The voters might see him as representing all the Hogs.

Yeah, that's what I thought. Clark was every bit of a huge player with the Skins dynasty of the 80's. A true game-breaking threat, and the 'highlight' guy the voters seem to look for. Reed and Carter will probably make it in before him, but Clark has to be thrown into the ring. Thanks for the research, by the way.

Jacoby & Grimm . Joe T. would have made it had J. Gibbs been our coach in 78 and installed that offence during Theismann's prime . Clark has the numbers . For you young guys in here , the WR's of today will always put up much larger #'s than the wr's of the 70's . Most Wr's had 40- 60 receptions per year , now 6th rd picks catch 90 in there rookie year . C Taylor and P. Warfield at times had less than 50 recp's in a year .

Statistically, Hanburger has a strong case. However, in terms of a player that dominated his position, I think Joe Jacoby should be a lock. The only player that was his equal or maybe slightly better was Anthony Munoz, who I believe got in his first eligible year. If Jacoby doesn't go in, then what other Left Tackle is deserving? I can't think of one. He was the best. And, the O-Line was easily the Redskins most dominant unit. Not having Jacoby or Grimm in the hall would be like not having anyone from the Steelers D-Line of the 70s in. The Hogs should be represented.
