Re: Skins vs. Colts tonight, what are your thoughts about our first pre-season game of 2008
Besides the good outings of a number of players, it looks like the players REALLY like playing for Zorn. Maybe i'm jumping to conclusions, but it looks like they want to have some fun this year. Anyone else get that feeling?
You are always going to get player-speak when they talk about their coach, but it actually looks like they like Zorn and his relaxed attitude. This year could be a special year if we can get some wins early. |

I can't find a name but there was a player out there on defense in the fourth quarter with the number 46. I don't know if anyone else did, but I freaked out and ran to my nearest computer to check and see if we still had Betts! lol.

Re: Skins vs. Colts tonight, what are your thoughts about our first pre-season game of 2008
Liked how the offense moved the ball. Liked how Mason played and could fight for the 3rd RB spot (not that I don't like Cartwright). Liked how calm and collected Brennan seemed to be.
Would like to see the next 2 games, but if we can assume play from last night, I'm not too concerned about depth for this ball club. Seems that we do have several kids ready to try and step up for spots on this team. Oh, and my wife was in the bathroom getting ready for bed during the 2nd Half Jason Taylor interview. She came out after it was done and asked if it was him. I said yes, and then had to rewind to the beginning of the interview so she could watch it...I just laughed then hit Live TV during the next commercial break.

Re: Skins vs. Colts tonight, what are your thoughts about our first pre-season game of 2008
Random Thoughts:
1. Steve Spurrier won his first pre-season game like 35 -7 (remember Mariucci complaining that he ran up the score?) and Matthews, Wuerfell, Rosenfels, et al looked like HOFers. I'm not sayong Zorn is Spurrier, but it is just pre-season. Just a reminder, not trying to be Deborah Downer. 2. I was encouraged by the fact that there were very few mental flubs (false starts, lining up in the wrong place, not knowing who was on the PAT team, etc.) Zorn seems to have everyone mentally prepared. 3. I am not encouraged by our run defense. And Jason Taylor looks more like a swimmer than a lineman to me. You can dominate every other aspect of the game and it will avail you nothing if you can't stop the run. It is the most critical element to sucess in the NFL, IMO. 4. Fred Davis will find his way very quickly on to the field. 5. I promised myself that I wouldn't spend the next ten years saying "Taylor would have made that play" or "Sean would not have been beaten like that", but I'm afraid there is no avoiding it. 6. I think Trey Wingo gave a shout out to one of or mods on ESPN yesterday, while showing a clip of Smoot dropping that pickle from Sorgi, but I could be wrong. 7. I prefer WRs who are into Jesus to those that are into making hip hop music. That is all.
