Re: Lipstick On A Pig
Buster, you should be careful not to just link all Democrats together. You know that not all think alike. Yet your post (and if people didn't actually click on your links) makes it seem as though the Democratic Party is fully represented by insensitive, unpatriotic flag-burners.

Re: Lipstick On A Pig
buster, i have a great idea. why not put her out into the main stream, so people can actually talk to her. and ask her questions? that's part of the reason all this bull crap is happening. and its not just Dem's attacking personally. remember the Jeremiah Wright fiasco? or attacking obama's dad for being a Muslim? aren't they considered personal attacks? does Obama have a legit driver's license? or a united states birth certificate? the attack game goes both ways. i don't know about you, but i sick of hearing the same old recycled speech that Palin gave at the convention, over and over again. i really like to know where she stands on the real issues

Re: Lipstick On A Pig
This is ridiculous, both Dems and Republicans do the same thing every election. They smear each other til the end and then they congratulate the winner and go home. Politics....suck. It is what it is.
I would love it if a party ran for election and just talked about what they are going to do. |

Re: Lipstick On A Pig
I am a Palin supporter and I think this comment has been overblown. The Republicans needs to let this slide off their backs, be the bigger people in this case. Truth be told Sarah Palin could probably care less about the comment. She's a tough lady.
Politics is dirty and seems to get dirtier every year. As a school teacher (I work with special needs kids) I agree with Firstdown, teacher unions need to be held to higher standards and bad teachers need to find new professions. |

Re: Lipstick On A Pig
“So Sambo beat the bitch!”
This is how Republican Vice Presidential nominee Sarah Palin described Barack Obama’s win over Hillary Clinton to political colleagues in a restaurant a few days after Obama locked up the Democratic Party presidential nomination. people who know her say she refers regularly to Alaska’s Aboriginal people as “Arctic Arabs” – how efficient, lumping two apparently undesirable groups into one ugly description – as well as the more colourful “mukluks” along with the totally unimaginative “f**king Eskimo’s,” according to a number of Alaskans and Wasillians interviewed for this article. » Palin, “So Sambo beat the Bitch!” Dvorak Uncensored: General interest observations and true web-log.

If you're serious about accusing a VP candidate of saying these things, I would come up with a better link than an obscure left-wing blog with "Lucille" the waitress and "people who know her" as the sources for this info. On the "lipstick on a pig" thing, pure political play. I hope the debates are substantive and not this type of junk.

Re: Lipstick On A Pig
Silly Warpathers!
Politics is almost NEVER about issues! It's about picking a candidate that makes you feel good and then bickering about the other candidate! It's how we end up with really intelligent arguments like: "Obama called Palin a pig with lipstick!" "Bush looks kind of like a monkey...let's refer to him as 'Commander-in-Chimp'" "Obama called McCain an old dead fish!" "Obama's middle name is Hussein, same as Saddam's last name...see the connection?!" Politics is largely about ignorant people holding a position they don't understand and attempting to argue for it and against anything else. The general public is so ignorant about everything from economics to history to science to philosophy that the argument turns into name calling and funny pictures. I don't care if you're an evangelical or arguing for socialized health care, most people flat out don't understand the issues. The media (CNN, Fox, take your pick) has to have SOMEthing to talk about all day long, and this kind of immature bickering really appeals to the masses.

I agree! I can honestly say I am an amatuer when it comes to politics/goverment and the real issues. I think most people are. My mom for example is a Dem. and every day that I go to visit her she is using whatever buzz word of the day is on CNN. IF I hear her say one more time the Rep. really pulled a "wildcard" on us, I am going to scream.

Re: Lipstick On A Pig
Be prepared to see much more of this type of thing from both sides in the next 2 months. Welcome to Karl Rove's world. So much for debating any issues!!! It's not like there's anything to worry about...
