Re: Plaxico Shot in Club
Night Club + Pistol + Shooting Yourself...sounds like a Dave Chappelle skit. I guess he won't be playing this Sunday which is A-OK with me. Plastico, you might want to learn how to operate a handgun before you wield one you f'ing moron...you know, to avoid shooting yourself in the future.
p.s. I wouldn't be surprised if the Giants release his ass. I know I would.

Re: Plaxico Shot in Club
I am sure the Skins will jump at the opportunity to get him but I'm not sure if he is worth it. While Hall has his own set of problems I can't say I have watched enough of him to say that he's a lazy player where as in Plexico's case I have seen him ample of times where he's not just me-me-me but lazy has hell on the field.

Re: Plaxico Shot in Club
Not only is Plaxico facing a 3.5yr minimum sentence, Pierce may be charged as well.... This is just so amazingly stupid.
PLAX, PIERCE FACING CRIMINAL CHARGES Posted by Mike Florio on November 30, 2008, 7:23 a.m. As previously expected, Giants receiver Plaxico Burress is in big trouble. Ralph Vacchiano of the New York Daily News reports that Burress likely will be arrested on felony weapons charges in the coming days after shooting himself in the leg at a Manhattan club with a weapon that he wasn’t properly licensed to carry. As not previously expected, Giants linebacker Antonio Pierce could face charges of his own for allegedly taking the gun and stashing it in New Jersey after the incident. (This would have been a great Playmakers episode if the show wasn’t so unrealistic in its depiction of the lifestyles of pro football players.) Per Vacchiano, police became aware of the incident only after Giants employees “reached out quietly” to report it. A representative of the team was planning to retrieve the gun and surrender it to police. Translation: The New York Giants will do nothing at all to shield Burress from the consequences of his conduct. In fact, the New York Giants seem to be more than willing to help the authorities take Burress off their hands. As to Pierce, his attorney told police he’d cooperate in the investigation in exchange for a promise that he won’t be charged. But why would police need Pierce’s voluntary cooperation? Burress has a .40 caliber hole in his leg that wasn’t caused by a stapler, and his employer is actively assisting the investigation. Pierce has no leverage here, and his best bet is to cooperate fully and then hope for lenience. For Plaxico, the law seemingly prevents much lenience. As we explained on Saturday night, illegal possession of a firearm in New York City results in a mandatory 3.5 year prison sentence, without exception. And as to anyone who thinks that the Poindexter effect might prompt police to look the other way, New York City ain’t Surry County, Virginia. As one police source told Vacchiano regarding Burress, “He went for his gun and fumbled it. And now it will cost him.”

Re: Plaxico Shot in Club
It doesn't matter whether he brought it in with him for protection or not. What matters is that several things had to go "wrong" to get to a point where you shoot yourself. Thankfully no one else was shot and I'm sure he's glad he didn't shoot himself in the crotch.

Safety Rules: 1. Treat EVERY weapon as if it were loaded. 2. Never point a weapon at anything you do not intend to shoot (In this case, yourself) 3. Keep your weapon on safe until you are ready to fire. 4. Keep your finger straight and off the trigger until you intend to fire.

Re: Plaxico Shot in Club
I am for any America who feels like they need protection, and get a gun. The problem is that a lot of people think the gun fires itself. Being in the military for a while I've learned the importance of certain things, I'm guessing PB didn't. I'm sure he:
- Didn't have the gun in a holster, we can thank all the movies for that. - Kept the weapon loaded, with round in the chamber - Kept the weapon off safety. Pistols won't fire themselves, but it doesn't take much if you have a double action pistol and you've already pulled the slide back and/or pulled the cocky mechanism back. For all of you thinking of getting any type of firearm for personal protection, please get some trigger time and some classes at your nearest gun range. The people you are trying to protect could be the ones that end up getting hurt. Be safe people.

Re: Plaxico Shot in Club
hagams....I agree with you. To say guns kill people is to say the cars drunk drivers are using kill people. Maybe we should ban cars. That way law abiding drivers can get screwed also. Sorry I could go off on a huge tangent but won't. Just because the law says everyone has a right to own a gun does not mean everyone should. You can't handle a gun safely then you should not be one to own or carry a gun around.
Now if your going to a Philli game....thats a different story. lol. just kidding. |

Re: Plaxico Shot in Club
I did not think you were legally allowed to carry a weapon in NYC unless you were a police officer or some other person of the law. This could have legal implications for Burress.

Re: Plaxico Shot in Club
Burress does need a safety lesson or two on being a gun owner. You got to respect it and be smart. I have been a gun owner for many years and have never had an accident.
