I didnt have a problem with Deion Sanders at the time. Hes probably one of the top 3 corners to ever play the game. So yeah back in 2000 I didnt mind having a trio of Champ Bailey, Deion Sanders, and Darrell Green. The only Skins fans who didnt want Deion were the ones holding a grudge for all the times he whipped our ass over the years. As for Alvin Harper I didnt have any opinion one way or the other. I didnt think he was anything special. He did play 2 seasons for Tampa Bay before us so it wasnt like he came right from the Cowboys here. Brandon Noble had knee problems but when he played for us he played well. He even won the Ed Block Courage Award after coming back from his first knee injury with us. I wanted Noble and had no problems with that move. You cant predict knee injuries they could happen to anyone. He probably would of came back and played some more for us if he didnt get a staph infection that ended his career after his 2nd knee injury. |

I think not!! Didnt we just go theough this with Mr Taylor, a 30 something, (beast)
that was suppose to bring the pass rush back to DC...enough with the washed up OLB/DE types...Weve got several guys that can play solid at OLB |

Re: I think this might be our answer for OLB...
Who's that old ex-steeler LB who was awesome last year for the Dolphins?
I'm not saying I'm in favor of trading for this guy...I'm not...but the point that just because you are older that you suck isn't always true...I think some of us are just a bit gunshy..thats all

And he was 31 last year, not 34. Not to mention how the Dolphins used him as opposed to how we would use ellis.

Re: I think this might be our answer for OLB...
We had chances to upgrade our LB postion in the draft and instead we went CB. at the time of that pick MLB Phillips from TCU was there, the kid is a tackling machine. OLB McKinzie From South Florida was there, very good player taken by the Pats. Too bad he was injured.

Re: I think this might be our answer for OLB...
No way in hell should we TRADE for a 34 year old LB who was a 3-4 outside backer. Didnt we try this last year with a much better player in JT? Id rather go with Wilson, Blades or MW than trade for Ellis. If he is released and/or Rocky gets injured then maybe bring him in...otherwise I will pass on him. D Brooks at WLB and Rocky at SLB would be better IMO.

Re: I think this might be our answer for OLB...
When was the last non-draft day, divisional trade?
I really can't think of one. I doubt that it's done because each team would think that the other was getting over on them no matter what was exchanged. Really though does someone have the history on that?

EDIT- Just remembered that Drew Bledsoe was traded from the Patriots to the Bills in 2002 for a 2003 1st round pick. Last edited by Brian Orakpo; 05-23-2009 at 03:01 AM. |

Re: I think this might be our answer for OLB...
I got answer to the OLB problem...
![]() 4. The Washington Redskins have a completely different plan for first-round choice Brian Orakpo than some people expected. At the Redskins' minicamp, Orakpo was used as the starting strongside linebacker. The plan is for him to blitz from the strong side on first and second downs. On passing downs, he will line up at right defensive end next to Albert Haynesworth, the former Tennessee Titans star who appeared dominating at his first Redskins camp. Orakpo was drafted to rush the passer. The surprise is that he won't just be doing it from a defensive end position. http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/column...ohn&id=4135310 unleash the hounds!! |
