Re: I love this board in the off season.....but

Yeah, people are going to freak after a loss, but this last one was particularly panic-inducing, because of how similar the loss looked to our team of late last season.

That being said, I am most certainly of the wait and see camp--we've got a much lighter schedule coming up, we never play well in Giant stadium, we only lost by 6 (not a reflective score, however...), there were some positives on offense and defense, etc.

As for people posting wild frenzied threads and such, whatever--it's an internet message board. I like that we're less nutty than extremeskins, but it's going to happen. Let's just try not to be jerks to each other just because our beloved team stunk up the joint.

I hate to loose as much as anyone. but seriously,, is cutting/trading everyone and bringing in new coaching in mid season gonna fix everything? I can't imagine

Many of us feel your pain DFI, and what you're saying is very true, but what you're also going to find is that it's not going to make a difference. It's the nature of the beast. Just continue to follow the forum throughout the season and witness the difference in reaction between a win and a loss. We have been saying what you're saying for years but the hits keep on coming. Keep the faith.

Most Redskins fans have two settings: (1) PANIC because the **** is hitting the fan and its splattering everywhere; and (2) EUPHORIC because the Redskins won a game and they're headed for the Super Bowl. Switching from one mode to the other within a few weeks causes most people to blow a gasket and go ape *****.

I think that is true for most NFL team's fan base or any sport for that matter.

Also, I may say the skins suck at this or that on here but if a Boys fan or any other fan comes around I blindy support the skins as potential SB champs!

^ I liked the ham and eggs game. As long as the eggs are scrambled with a little cheddar cheese mixed in. I do agree, the ham is always committed to the game. Is that why we were called the Hogs back in the day? Were they committed?

The Redskins have great players but aren't a great team. I don't know if anyone caught this or not, on one of the field goals the guys just stood there and didn't even try to block it?

Yeah I caught it.. Did you catch how the Giants weren't really trying on our Fake Fieldgoal? They didn't even move. Then they tried to catch the blazing speed of our punter, but couldn't get it done. Yes the Skins have great players, but no they don't play as a unit. Specifically on Offense. The D seems to play well together. The Offense seems to play as they expect to lose at times.

IMO Zorn is in over his head, he is a good guy but i feel he wont last due to inexperience. If Zorn is gone i couldnt think of another young HC prospect that i would want to see us go after. Cowher i guess would be the best of the old guys out there.

Re: I love this board in the off season.....but

i think the best asset or aspect of the skins organization are the fans. year in year out we hover around 8-8 with no real explosive highlight reel plays compared to most other teams yet we stick with them as a rabid fan base clinging to traditions and thoughts of the glory days returning.

i kinda hold the idea that the people posting on here are the more fanatical, hardcore fan so emotions are high win or loss. the skins (DS in particular) are lucky to still have such a loyal following after years or mediocrity. thank goodness we started reversing that horrid W-L record against the boys . . .

rant off . . . heres to you skins fans. we dont have any fairweather fans which is good but i suppose fairweather fans are just a symptom of consistently winning . .

go skins!!
