The WR Austin is from the same High School as Desean Jackson Long Beach Poly. He is simular is size as Desean Jackson and Austin does have nice speed. Who knows he could be our KR/PR and slot WR in a few years. He from Long Beach CA so I know he is a baller. Dont be surprised he maybe a playmaker in the return game we have been looking for. Thanks DirtBag good work on the writeups...I'm passing no judgement on this draft because I will trust the work of Shanahan/Allen that they took the players that will most help the team be successful...Williams/Capers will likely be our LT/RT this year.

You know, when I think about some the premier OTs in this league, most of them do not have chiseled bodies.

Picks I liked:
Trent Williams: Needed to be done and he will be better than okung IMO.
Terrence Austin: If he makes the team we could have out Special Teams sorted out.
Selvish Capers: Good late round pick, hopefully he rises to the occasion.

Not Sure:
Perry Riley: Here I was hoping for us to take Bruce Campbell but if we lose McIntosh for a pick it makes sense.

Dislike: (For Now)
Dennis Morris: Unless there is something we dont know about Cooley or Davis, this was a pick that makes no sense.
Eric Cook: This would have been better as Snead or Blount at this point. I thought Blount would have actually done well in washington.

I wondered about his playing time too, with Cooley and Davis already firmly in place. But he'll be in the FB position, backing up Mike Sellers, and might be stealing playing time from him.

Excellent point. Another thing we have to give credit for is the secrecy and deception with which they were able to cloak their actual intentions. I heard several analysts and an interview with one GM who all said they had no idea which way we were going to go with the 4th overall pick.

I agree with you.

The Draft is an Big Event for me but for Shanny and Allen draft picks are simply tools among the other tools in their toolbox. The other tools are Free Agency, trades, strength and conditioning, teaching, etc. Their goal is to use all of their tools in conjunction to build a championship team and not to "win" the Draft event itself. So, of course, they are not going to cling to second round pick when they can use it to get Donovan McNabb.

When I look at the players they added during the actual NFL Draft event, I think I'm seeing that they drafted for team needs and that they focused on players who were very productive in college and who are versatile. I don't think it's as helpful for us to look at the nominal positions these guys played in college as it is for us to look at the multiple things that each of them may be able to do for the team. For example, I'm sure that Special Teams ability was considered when they drafted Riley, Morris, and Austin.

Anyway, that's how I see it.

I look at the draft the same way as you and I gave it an A. If any of Williams, Jarmon, or Carriker end up being a "bust" then i'd have to downgrade the draft to a C or lower. Getting McNabb for a 2nd and conditional pick next year was probably the best move of the draft in my opinion, although i'm not sure if i would still make it, knowing that Clausen and McCoy fell as far as they did. It all depends on how long McNabb wears the redskins uniform. If he plays 5 more years, i'm happy. If he plays just two or three, then i'll have major regrets.

Okay, I know that it is just a highlight reel but Dennis Morris looks absolutely terrific!! What blocking, it would be great if he turns out to be a late-round gem

Like I said earlier, you have to wonder why he wasn't projected much higher than the 6th round.

From the little I have seen, I like this guy -- he'll be my training camp favorite this year. He won't get to wear #49 though.
