Also...I fully expect Kelly to hit the waiver wire before the season starts. He's the most injured player on our roster in recent memory and cannot contribute to special teams. He done.

...I still really, really hope Thomas makes strides.

No more trades of draft picks for player. Jackson can stay where he is.

If I remember right, Jeremy Bridges was starting for us when the first depth chart came out last preseason...so take that for what it's worth

Depth charts are used as motivational tools too. Shanahan is orchestrating this off season beautifully.

Yep, it's posted in the locker room for a reason.

Glad to see Carriker starting ahead of Daniels. Seriously Daniels should not even be on the team. I think my mom could out run him.

Fortunately neither has to run much. So his speed down field is pretty irrelevant. Now being amongst the strongest people in the league might be somewhat helpful. Don't hate on PD for an irrelevant reason.

Eh, he can't really take on a block and make a tackle on the same play anymore. He's still strong enough to make contact with the offensive tackle without going backwards, which is important, but also not part of the current scheme.

Daniels is savvy, but he's so slow in open space that teams almost don't have to account for him anymore -- as the back can just run right by him. He's not going to be able to beat anyone out in a camp battle, man for man.

True, PD is slow, but at the point of attack he's not getting pushed back often. He's probably more suited to this 3-4 DE at this point in his career, as he allows the LBs to read & pursue w/clearer angle.

Granted, I haven't been to camp, so I'm going off of last year's performance. Maybe he's looking much slower this year. I hope he makes the team & contributes, the guy just seems solid all the way around & somebody we can all be proud to root for.

Guys, don't hate on this. I love Phillip Daniels, but he is old and slow. Speed is important for a DE when trying to make a play from the backside. At least he's strong like FRPLG said.

Re: Unofficial depth chart is out

after I read over the depth chart, I was sickened to see that our starting receiver opposite moss is galloway. I've said it before and I'll say it again, if this guy couldn't work well with Tom Brady, then what makes you think he'll do well with Donovan?

I'm very glad that Kareem Moore is our starting FS, he can produce.

I was shocked to see that Dennis Morris isn't even on our depth chart! He is a great blocker and can do some damage receiving. He could be our second FB/third TE.

Why is albert listed as a backup NT, shouldn't he be at least a backup RDE, for now.

Torrain in front of parker isn't surprising, since Willie is old and won't be playing special teams.

I still think this team if we want to be a playoff caliber team, should get Vincent Jackson. But don't give up our first next year.
I also forgot where I saw this, but somewhere some writer or NFL analyst said that Kory Lichtenstrieger will probably beat out Artis Hicks at RG.
