Of course. Very little chance I can keep up with third string fullbacks without some sore of prompt.

Haslett's defense is probably the Steeler defense, with some variations.

McGahee owned Clinton in 2009. And to me, on Saturday, he looked like he had more of a burst than CP, and he's got a nose for the endzone. Clinton does look better than last year, but I still give McGahee a slight edge.

If not Portis, McGahee is definitely way ahead of the rest of our RB corps. Although, I am encouraged by Torrain and Williams. McGahee would be a way better veteran backup than LJ & WP.
Portis only played in 8 games while McGahee played in 16

But still, McGahee had less carries than Portis and still ran for more yards. I think he's a slight upgrade.

^ So who do we send to the Ravens to get McGahee?

The last I saw, the Ravens were looking for a late round pick. Yeah, I hate trading so many picks, and the Skins already have, but if we're really employing the win now mentality, a late-rounder for McGahee isn't a bad price.

J... stats aren't the only thing bud. McGahee also has one of the best Olines in football blocking for him.

Mcgahee is younger and may have more burst, but I honestly believe CP is one of the most complete running backs in football. He is by far the best blitz pickup back in the league, still has speed, and has good vision.

With his new dedication to practicing and belief in MS's system he will have top 10 numbers in yards and tds this season as long as he can stay healthy.

Tempting, but we need to get away from the win now stuff. That is why I am supportive of the new regime, but also a tad wary. You always use some FA acquisitions to shore up any deficiencies, but you should make the draft the backbone of building a winner. Look at NE. God damn they traded down and got what like a dozen picks? Of course not all of those guys are going to make the final roster, but your odds of getting some nice depth is better if you keep trading away picks for proven vets that might be on the downward slope of their careers or becoming injury prone. Jamaal Brown might fully recover and become a beast for us, then again he might have chronic hip trouble and be out half or more of the time during the season. I am hoping that once a decent roster is finally formulated and they are comfortable with the new systems that Shanny and the FO will turn more focus on the draft.

I agree, if he can stay concussion free he should be a stud this season.

I agree we need to get away from the Win Now mentality, but at the same time, we only have so many years left with McNabb at the helm, so I say surround him with talent.

Yeah, I really hope CP can return to form, but I have my doubts.

McGahee ran well behind a crappy line in Buffalo for years, whether or not he still could, who knows. I'd like to find out is all. Actually, our O-line isn't that crappy, just had a rough go against a top tier DEF. I'm cautiously optimistic about the switch to zone blocking. I wish Kyle could've brought Alex Gibbs with him too.

Donovan is somthing to build on, nothing more, nothing less. He is here to get things going into motion til we draft a young stud or perhaps gain a younger FA QB. I am sure he is going to help build our team, but he isn't going to be effective more than 3 seasons.

My other knock against bringing in another RB via a trade is that we can not afford to lose any more pics.

This would be more of a luxury move than that of sound reason. There is no reason with the backs we already have in camp to bring in another often injured RB.

Patience is the key to the running games future. Keep what we have in house and draft a guy or two next year. Mcgahee is not an upgrade to our current roster of RB talent.

Tyrone Carter was brought in as a backup strong safety....very interesting.
Horton and Doughty are fighting out the free safety position...
Really weird...that means we essentially have 4 strong safeties and 1 free safety (who is injured)....maybe Haslett will consider playing a nickle back as a safety if things get bad?

I just dont want double moves for TD's down the middle again
