The defense may have played hard but the calls out of Haslett are terrible. Unless Orakpo and Kerrigan both have dominant games (simultaneously) this is a suspect defense i.e. we'll get shredded by the top 5 to 10 offenses in the league.

We definitely didn't get beat in the fourth quarter by a guy who could hardly move though. If that was actually the case, then you'd defend the 3rd and 21 call on those grounds. Romo bought the time to deliver the ball. Haslett didn't call a play that should have given Romo 5+ seconds to allow for downfield release.

steve young made a salient point about the last play. as a qb in that situation you cant scramble to the side that would leave the hand holding the ball to the inside of the field and not know whats behind you. seems like alot to ask of a qb in that situaiton but i guess thats why he is in the HOF and rex is rex

Rex knew that Spencer was closing, I think he just assumed he wasn't on top of him. And if J. Brown got in front of him even for a second, he wouldn't have been. Rex is a turnover machine though. He got lucky on the sack-fumble forced by Ware that ESPN replays didn't show a clear Dallas recovery. That's the only reason that Garrett didn't challenge and win.

Oh yeah...I almost forgot. This Orakpo Geico commercial deserves a smack down. Awful commercial, just awful

Oh yeah, definitely. I DVR'd the game and was fast-forwarding through commercials and saw it...my wife wanted me to rewind it, I think we both thought it would be funny...WRONG - horrible.

Re: Smoot Lays the Smack Down (Redskins at Cowboys)
Our red zone offense is non-existence and disgusting. KS and the whole offense needs to be called out on that. We should've been up 21-9 by halftime.

Re: Smoot Lays the Smack Down (Redskins at Cowboys)
Kyle Shanahan- Terrible play calling. Why wasn't Hightower in the game until 1:52 left to go? We got away from giving Hightower the ball. After that touchdown, we needed to run the ball with Hightower, setting up the play action pass.
D Hall- TERRIBLE COVERAGE. On 3rd and freakin 21. You CANNOT give up that much, and a 15 yrd facemask penalty. Entire Team- Completely undisciplined. Rocca's missed hold, Atogwe's holding in the red zone, missed tackles, false starts, allowing an injured Felix Jones to run for 140 yds. |

The skins haven't been good in the R.Z in 20 years

Re: Smoot Lays the Smack Down (Redskins at Cowboys)
Our offense has been having trouble scoring points since Norv Turner was fired. Norv sucked as a HC but we did put up points with him.

Re: Smoot Lays the Smack Down (Redskins at Cowboys)
Rex - Not gonna happen with this lead weight. We cant have that kind of inconsistency at QB. Unfortunately there is not much we can do about it.
D. Hall - My man let me down tonight at a critical time. But give me a f-ing break, Haslett calls an all out blitz on 3 and 21??? WTF!!! Did that call come off the Cowboys sideline??? This game just felt like destiny unfolding right before my eyes. I was practically predicting the last 6 minutes play by play right down to the turnover at the end. History just keeps repeating itself. New team, same results. Any other team in the NFL would have beat the Cowboys tonight. |
